1986: The U.S. Supreme Court explicitly ruled that the Constitution did not protect the right of gay adults to engage in private, consensual intimacy, a decision that validated criminalization until 2003.

2008: Just months after gaining the right to marry in California, voters passed Proposition 8 to successfully amend the state constitution and strip that right away until courts overturned it in 2013.

2020: Remarkably, until a landmark Supreme Court ruling in 2020, it was still entirely legal in more than half of U.S. states for an employer to fire a worker simply because of their sexual orientation.

1993: The U.S. enacted "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," forcing over 13,000 LGBTQ+ military service members to hide their identities under threat of immediate dismissal before its 2011 repeal.

1996: The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) federally defined marriage as exclusively heterosexual, denying same-sex couples over 1,000 federal benefits until it was struck down in 2013.

1988: The British government enacted "Section 28," legally banning schools and local authorities from teaching the acceptability of homosexuality, which wasn't fully repealed until 2003.

Some raw food items trap microscopic contaminants -- like mesclun mixes, bagged salads, cilantro, basil, raspberries, and snow peas;

The definitive way to kill Cyclospora is by cooking your food to an internal temperature of at least 158°F (70°C).

For many years I pursued universal #React components through abstraction: wrapper layers, platform bridges, conditional rendering. Each approach added complexity. Components got heavier. "Write once, run anywhere" became "write once, debug everywhere." The premise was wrong.

I decided to invert the model: Two polymorphic primitives that defer to their platform. Registry seams that inject behavior without coupling dependencies. Patterns that compose atoms, never inherit. A design system built on what to separate, not what to share.

The result: universal components aren't achieved through abstraction; they emerge from radical decoupling. Separate what something _IS_ from what it _DOES_ from what it _MEANS_. When nothing is coupled, everything composes. Universality is subtraction, not addition. ¶ #designsystems #frontend

Some #satoshi and #crypto thoughts. I've become confident that it's #NickSzabo. Some clues along the way that IMHO that point to him. The biggest I'd say, is the 2014 email hack:

Hal Finney was the vital collaborator and beta-tester who supplied the name of his neighbor. Len Sassaman was a brilliant cypherpunk contemporary solving similar problems in Belgium.

But Nick Szabo remains the only individual in history who possessed the exact 1998 cryptographic blueprints, the unparalleled macroeconomic motive, and the linguistic fingerprints necessary to have authored the Bitcoin whitepaper.

... he created the Nakamoto pseudonym, utilized Hal Finney as his trusted C++ sounding board, launched the network, and then deliberately burned the "Satoshi" identity to the ground in 2011 to ensure Bitcoin remained truly decentralized.

When we clear the board of the inspirations (Back, Dai), the distractions (Wright, Dorian), and the outliers (Le Roux), we are left standing exactly where the hardest evidence points.

Alibi = 2001 Pivot The timing here is the nail in the coffin; Satoshi vanishes in April 2011 and exactly 1 month later, in May 2011, Szabo publishes "Bitcoin, what took ye so long?," effectively stepping into the daylight while distancing himself from the Nakamoto pseudonym.

Nick Szabo is Satoshi Nakamoto. He had the 1998 blueprints, the macroeconomic genius, and the ideological obsession with gold. Recognizing the danger of a "trusted third party" (even himself) ...

Every single forensic, linguistic, and ideological road leads directly to Szabo. Motive = The Gold Standard Szabo was obsessed with the history of money, the physical limitations of the gold standard, and the concept of "unforgeable scarcity."

Means = The Blueprints In 1998 he literally drafted the architectural blueprints for Bitcoin via his Bit Gold proposal (Bit Gold Markets). His mastery of subjective valuation & economics mirrors Satoshi's emails to Mike Hearn almost verbatim.

April 5, 1933, is the exact date of US Executive Order 6102: The day President Franklin D. Roosevelt criminalized the private ownership of gold!! Bitcoin wasn't just a tech experiment; it was a direct, ideological retaliation against the state-controlled confiscation of money.

Hal Finney: Demoted to "The Watson" (too organic to be a fabricated Sybil attack against his own identity) Len Sassaman: Demoted to "The Cypherpunk Ghost" (cypherpunk privacy extremist & ideological mismatch) This leaves Nick Szabo: The Undeniable Architect.

2014 Email Hack had Military-Grade OpSec --> The hacker found mostly recent spam and a few post-2011 messages. This heavily implies that when Satoshi sent his final "I've moved on to other things" email in April 2011, he meticulously wiped his inbox and sent folders clean.

2014 Email Hack had a birthday clue --> The attacker likely gained access by using the birthday on Satoshi's P2P Foundation profile: April 5, 1975. In the world of cryptography, dates are rarely random...

1) The 2014 Email Hack: The Golden Easter Egg -> In 2014, satoshin@gmx.com and P2P Foundation profile were compromised. The hack revealed 2 critical things that altered my suspect list...

👀 Coming to Chrome DevTools in Chrome 138: CSS Value Tracing When you hover a --custom-prop in a `var()`, DevTools currently shows you the computed value. From Chrome 138 onwards, you can hover the `var` part to see how CSS actually got to that value.
