The rest of Chapter 8 in my No Damage Scavenge run is up now. This means the run is officially cleared. I'll still be taking on the new bosses, though.
I've seen multiple cases of people saying Mario & Luigi: Brothership feels like it was made by AI. I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.
At this point, people will call anything they don't like AI, which is incredibly disrespectful and stupid.
I've seen this video show up a few times, and I don't really understand it. If you have fun with a game, then doesn't that mean you don't find it mediocre? Who's even to say what is or isn't mediocre? You can't objectively measure how good a piece of media is.
You know, considering just how many scrapped ideas there supposedly were for Super Mario Bros Wonder, I'm kind of curious what potential there might be for a sequel. Maybe we'll see some more interesting stuff whenever they get around to releasing another 2D Mario game.
A US lawmaker has announced plans to introduce a new bill that would give gamers ownership of the games they buy 🎮
The Power To The Players Act would require publishers to make games playable offline before shutting down their servers

Experimental post: The Duality of Whacka
In the Switch version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Whacka can finally be fought, and has a suspiciously specific 108 HP. The game both offers a ridiculously simplistic explanation for this as well as a complex one steeped in Dharmic symbolism.
Videos like this trying to push the idea that Modern Mario & Luigi is inferior to classic Mario & Luigi kind of bother me.
If it was just Paper Jam, I'd kind of get it, but Dream Team and Brothership are both great games that outshine the original trilogy in certain ways. I will die on that hill.
Always remember if there is a game you are having a lot of fun with, always ignore those that just want to hate on it.
If you are having fun, that's all that matters 😀
Hot take: I honestly think Super Mario RPG is kind of overrated. I recognize its importance in laying the groundwork for future Mario RPGs and I'm sure it was great for its time, but having played through the Switch remake twice, it honestly feels a bit lackluster to me.
The story also feels a bit too disjointed to me. I suppose the sheer zaniness of it all can be a bit fun in a certain way, but I definitely prefer having a more cohesive narrative.
To be clear, I don't hate or even dislike Super Mario RPG. I still certainly had some fun with it. However, I just can't see it standing toe-to-toe with many of the great Mario RPGs that have since come out, such as TTYD, Bowser's Inside Story, and Brothership.

I think it has the weakest battle system of any Mario RPG, excluding modern Paper Mario, because it's just too simplistic. Things like Paper Mario's badges and Mario & Luigi's dodging are great expansions of the system that add far more depth to battling, which is something Super Mario RPG lacks.
Say what you will about Color Splash but looking back, despite its issues, it technically was the first step towards the TTYD Remake happening. It was Paper Mario’s first foray into HD, requiring a new engine (that TTYD HD eventually used) and a revamped/expanded dev team...
14 years ago today, Pokémon Black and White Versions 2 were first released for the Nintendo DS in North America!
Sequels to Pokémon Black and White respectively and the second and final paired versions of Generation V.

Not sure if this is a hot take, but I think "Danger" and "Peril" in classic Paper Mario are actually pretty well-designed risk vs. reward mechanics.
Sure, they're crazy strong, but using them to their fullest typically requires a lot of knowledge and careful planning.
They also work very well with the lower and easily calculable damage numbers used in classic Paper Mario games. Other RPGs typically are a lot more complex in that regard, and Danger/Peril really highlight how much having those lower numbers can add to the strategy of the game.
Shigeru Miyamoto has claimed that Toad is his least favorite character in Mario Kart. Despite this, in all footage of him playing Mario Kart 8, he picked Toad every time. Whether he was joking or specifically picking a character he hates to challenge himself is unknown.
Starting up Chapter 8 for my No Damage Scavenge run. Unfortunately, I did have a recording mishap that prevents me from fully showing the Shadow Sirens battle:

just realized where the partners are standing aligns with the chapter / star you got them with - and by this logic ms mowz gets garnet star and goombella gets crystal (good I always saw it that way and not vice versa)
