Climate activist, vegan, reader, hard headed, wannabe writer, socialist, degrowth, let's go solar, would rather be on a bike than in a car. Choosing to change before Climate Change makes me change. Boise native. Born when CO2 levels were at 322.55 ppm

It's frustrating when I am on a website and find someone involved to be very interesting and worthy of following on social media. Then I notice in their bio that they are only on LinkedIn and Twitter. Both of the sites are full of racists, homophobes and I left the sites years ago. Do better people.

Somewhere around 72% of Americans believe in Climate Change. That means climate scientists have done a good job of communicating the issue. However, few people are taking any steps to curb climate change. That means those who are specialists in creating change aren't doing a good job at leading it.

The trick to keeping people oppressed is the capitalists perpetuating the idea that housing is a good investment and it's appreciation is beneficial. However, people become trapped by continual rising housing prices and thus tied to forced labor just to stay housed. Appreciation is good for the rich

I have become more distrusting of all things on the internet because of AI generated personas, images and content. What is going to become of the world when such distrust becomes imbedded and is the basis of all of our engagement? I feel sorry for the kids of the future living in a false world.

Anyone not mad as hell and not willing to call their representative today to express their anger and desire to have him removed is only permitting this to continue.

Trump: "Let them hit a missile into San Diego or Los Angeles on the way. You want to see a horror show? Let them hit San Diego. Let them hit Los Angeles. You want to see some bad things happen?"

We aren't going to cut methane emissions and deforestation with a few million people reducing their meat consumption by a few ounces a week. The scale of the issue requires a response that actually makes an impact. Going vegan is the only true action that will result in the change necessary. #vegan

The scale of the systems involved in climate change, deforestation, plastic proliferation, animal exploitation, water demise, and more are immense. Changing them requires more than a mere cutting back. True change involves abrupt large scale cuts to the systems and all that drive them. Be the change

I am sitting in the lobby as my friend is getting cataract surgery. A guy in his 70's just walked in wearing a Trump MAGA hoodie. I am doing all I can to bite my tongue and not yell at him. It's amazing people are still supporting Trump. BTW, I am in Boise, Idaho where it's full of MAGA.

Adaptation is critical as we confront climate change. Going vegan is one adaptation that will preserve biodiversity, forests, land, water and curb methane production. Upon a search of Bsky it appears that the only people talking about veganism are vegan themselves and not the climate community. Why?

Ending this cruelty requires someone to be openminded and willing to change their relationship with animals and the planet. Going vegan won't save all of them but it will save a few. Even more will be saved from the cruelty and death of more people go vegan.

So, how did I start my morning? I pulled a plant-based food product out of my freezer and cooked it. As I was eating it for breakfast I decided to look the company up to see what other products they had. I learned they had went out of business a couple years ago. I didn't check the Eat By date. πŸ™ƒ

Systemic change is needed to avoid climate catastrophe is the mantra we always hear from people. What happens when we don't support the systems that are changing? Over the past 20 yrs we have seen a large up turn in plant-based food companies. However people aren't going vegan and they are closing.

It's clear that we must adapt to a vegan way of living if we are to protect the planet. But, not enough people are doing it and the plant-based food systems can't survive without the customer base. What must we do to get those who acknowledge the environmental issue to go vegan?

Funny how advocating for people to buy EVs to curb climate change is good but advocating for veganism is extreme. We must work to stop biodiversity loss, deforestation and climate change. Going vegan is one solution and the only barrier to adopting it is a willingness to do so.

A climate scientists admits the connection between climate change and animal ag doesn't matter. Going vegan will save animals from pain, suffering and an unnecessary death while also protecting biodiversity and the climate. Going vegan is the least a person should do if they want to make change.

People are conditioned to exploit, use, abuse and kill animals just to satisfy their need for protein. No animal should suffer when we have a choice to go vegan.

Sound on πŸ”Š Welcome in Pig Hell πŸ‘ΊThe rape department of a forced labor death camp. Young mother pigs to be or already forcibly impregnated. The stench will be unbearable. When are you going to stop supporting this? #LiveVegan don’t be the reason for their suffering πŸ™

Do people think of this as they eat their seafood dinner? There's no need to kill animals. #vegan #biodiversity

I finally deleted my Meta (Facebook / Instagram) accounts today. I have struggled with their business practices for years but I continued to use the FB Marketplace to sell my stuff locally. Though it came a time that I couldn't consciously support their shady business any longer. I am happier now.

People justify their use of animals as long as the animal was treated humanely. However, there's nothing kind or compassionate about the way we treat animals especially when there's no necessity to them being enclosed, used, exploited, mistreated and killed. The only way to be humane is to go vegan.

I have fought for over a year to delete my Facebook acct but I have been stuck using Marketplace to sell stuff. Craigslist was once the go to spot for the exchange of goods and services but lost people to FB Marketplace. I have decided that from today forward I will only use Craigslist to sell on.

For 33 of my 59 yrs I have been vegan. I grew up raising, abusing and slaughtering cows, chickens, sheep, ducks, racing horses, racing pigeons, and geese. At the time it was a normal way of living even though I felt it wasn't right. Once I left home I learned there was a different way of living.

People are foolish to think that politicians of any sort or corporations will save us from Climate Change. The corps only interest is profits and keeping their preferred politicians in office. It takes individuals banding together to change our way of life to be more sustainable. Be the change...

Just signed up for Reddit and learned it's not as helpful as people seem to say it is. I am trying to find information and insights into VOIP services and one post was deleted because I am new there. Then a second attempt was thwarted and people are not permitted to suggest VOIP providers. ConfusedπŸ™ƒ

This is just one of trillions of animals tortured each year. The poor being is suffering from the hot water being poured on it. It's frustrating to know that nearly everyone is against cruelty upon animals but they won't go vegan and continue to pay people to inflict suffering and death upon animals

MarcPieterse@marcpieterse.bsky.social

Humans do horrible shit to animals πŸ‘Ί Humans allow other humans to do horrible shit to animals. Don’t be such a human. #StopTheTorture #LiveVegan take no part in abuse ✌️

I keep seeing everyone making soft shoe comments regarding Trump and it infuriates me. He's not a child nor an idiot. He's a grown ass man who's intentional about being malicious, greedy, dishonest, petty, arrogant, deceptive, retaliatory, criminal and more. Call him out for who and what he is!!!
