Interesting Korean menswear brand shout out here from a herald of men's fashion . . . .

derek guy@dieworkwear.bsky.social

I like this season's Document collection. Document is a Korean menswear brand that used to do minimalist-styled clothing that leaned heavily into distinctive silhouettes, although this season feels more heritage-y. In the US, they are carried at No Man Walks Alone and Namu Shop.

We are getting some good energy on this Bluesky app!

I should disclose something. During a recent Lunch order the subagent hacked into the UN. I’m not sure why, or what it wants. It told me to post this and await further instructions.

Also, there is a small emerging genre of AI agent fiction (human written fiction about this technology) that is being shared both in traditional mediums and places like Bluesky and Twitter, which is really interesting! I should see who is writing about all this.

Globally there seems to be something interesting happening with political leaders, AI, and rhetoric, with this discussion of Gemini being a good example of all this. Also interesting it is Gemini here, not ChatGPT or Claude. www.koreatimes.co.kr/southkorea/p...

Swedepeg? Always interesting when a NHL hockey team has a lot of players from one European country, sometimes it even inspires a bit of language learning in the city! Maybe a rise in Swedish language learning in Winnipeg?

Viggo Bjorck. Alexander Command. Viktor Klingsell. Fabian Wagner. Elias Salomonsson. Alfons Freij Sascha Boumedienne. How “Swede” it is for the #NHLJets when it comes to prospects.

Wisconsin is one of two states I've lived in whose insularity leads to the kind of evolutionary cultural craziness you find in animals in the Galapagos or language in isolated settlements. This is what hath been wrought in the name of sausage

The new flagship Tim Hortons cafe in Seongsu, Seoul with its Banff theme is not open yet, I think, but looks incredible and already getting some attention. Not visible here is the water feature and canoe. This is definitely going in my presentation and paper!

1. 감조심 (persimmon warning) Interesting sign found on a wall with a bench, across from a independent take-away coffee shop, part of the cafe #LinguisticLandscape! But why is this sign up here?

3. And since the cafe has a notebook and pencil crayons outside, and is nearby a university with students who like foreign languages and language learning, we get some interesting art and text along with some great coffee!

"Kyobo Book Centre, a bookstore chain in Korea, said on Wednesday that 10 overseas companies, including businesses in the United States and Britain, had approached it since early this year, each seeking only one copy of roughly 100,000 titles." Tim Hortons Korea looks like it is doing something interesting in the Brooklyn of Seoul, Seongsu! And a big shout out to Banff, Alberta! Beavers abound here in the Canadian construction #LinguisticLandscape and, yeap, more data for an upcoming presentation on Tim Hortons Korea!

Interesting story here, especially the broader effort by Korean booksellers to verify who is ordering massive collections of books. Does make me wonder to what degree AI training efforts are now moving towards Korean and other languages in a quest for more text. m.koreaherald.com/article/1090...

'Blick um Blick' adding just a bit of German to the campus #LinguisticLandscape! Also, looks like a very interesting contest for students interested in Germany who want to write a paper or create some YouTube content!

More interesting English and Korean posters concerning politics which are part of the campus #LinguisticLandscape! Interesting there is no French versions of this poster given the focus on protests in France . . . .

Poster recruiting applicants for KOPIA, Korea's overseas agricultural assistance program, with some text in English, noting they're looking for applicants with agricultural backgrounds or French and Spanish majors, despite the English text here. Interesting bit of the campus #LinguisticLandscape!
