Artists rendition of the death of the Late Palaeozoic Ice Age from this great paper by Hana Jurikova @mudwaterclimate.bsky.social and others (www.nature.com/articles/s41...). The papers also contains some lovely boron isotope data tracing CO2 300 million years ago! 🧪⚒️🌊
Come do a PhD with us at Bristol! Looking for a student to look at B incorporation into silica - both experimentally-precipitated and biogenic.. With @krhendry.bsky.social @sophwestacott.bsky.social and Franziska Stamm. Deadline Monday 13th of January! DM or email me for more details. bit.ly/3W8WshH

The first paper from my student Simon Ring's PhD thesis is out now! He quantifies boron partitioning and isotope fractionation during adsorption onto different clay minerals.. refining the mechanisms for how it works and what it means for global B fluxes. doi.org/10.1016/j.gc...
🦖I'm readvertising a PhD project at Bristol applying B isotopes to Cretaceous Ocean Anoxic Events as part of the @petrarch-project.bsky.social . Deadline April 12th, starts mid-September. See www.bristol.ac.uk/media-librar... for details! RTs (or RBSs?) appreciated.
