Batting 481 out of 500 is a remarkable feat on any level. Organizing, executing a solid campaign is vital to defeating Collins. Big plus is this was done by Troy Jackson and Mainers. I know, he personally called me. We don’t need DC consultants running our show w/TV airs wars. #MESen #mepolitics

For Father’s Day, my daughter bought me two books by J.R.R. Tolkien, both edited by his son Christopher. The first is translations of Sir Gawain and the Green Knoght, Pearl, and Ser Orfeo. The second is The Fall of Gondolin. 1/2

I don't care what goes on in anyone's bedroom or marriage. It's one of the first revelations I had when still a republican during the marriage equality vote in Maine and struggled to answer what the relationship between consenting adults had on me or why it was any of my business. #mepolitics

If you like him, don't like him, or are unsure – I believe it's well worth your while to read Shay's final piece wrapping up her thoughts on Maine's U.S. Senate primary. Excellent & in-depth, it reveals bits I bet most of us did not know and that helped cement many of my own thoughts. #MEpolitics

I think it’s important to look at the Dem candidates in ME in CD2, gubernatorial, & senate races who don’t get invited to the ‘party’ & ask,“Why not?” Baldacci, Shah, King III, & LaFlamme seem to be on the outs with the other candidates, who have all appeared together outside debates. #mepolitics

It was great to join Healthy Morning to talk about our race for Governor! I will never back down to bullies and I’m proud to be running to be Maine’s next Governor.

Opponents went all in on smearing Graham Platner as a Nazi based on a bad tattoo choice. It didn’t work. Maine voters decided they’d rather have universal health care and an end to reckless wars than a polished politician with an unblemished past.

"Every person in this country and hopefully at some point on this planet has earned the right to a dividend from all of the surplus we've collectively created. UBI is a great start to this process and deeply needed at this inflection point with AI." Quote by a pledge signer. Sign & share your own:

You heard it from Graham. As Secretary of State, I am making plans to protect our elections from federal interference, and as your next governor, I will continue this work so that the only people who influence our elections are Maine voters.

It’s been several years since I’ve visited the small stream on the back of my property (too many projects), but it was a beautiful afternoon and it’s time for me to work on trails and take care of blow downs. #maine #outdoors #stream

Politicians are great at self-promotion & never miss an opportunity to talk about their accomplishments. Janet Mills isn’t celebrating a ‘win’ for the town of Jay anywhere online. Mills doesn’t have a post on BlueSky, Threads, Instagram, or FB about her veto. Why not? #mepolitics

Hate the AI pic, but good piece by Thom Hartmann

open.substack.com/pub/thomhart... The “liberal” commentators are shocked. It was reported yesterday that Graham Platner, the Democrat who’ll most likely win the primary to run for the US Senate from Maine, has staked out some “truly radical” positions. The former Marine

I’m glad our next Governor and Senator from Maine isn’t going to be Janet Mills. THIS is why younger candidates are needed because someone needs to consider the future of our state. Data centers are not more important than our environment.

The bill would have made Maine the first state in the country to enact such a ban on the controversial facilities.

In Indonesia, hundreds of poor households got cash payments, and even though it was only about reducing poverty, it led to a 30% drop in deforestation. And in Namibia, a UBI experiment led to a 95% drop in animal poaching. There are things we do to nature purely out of the need for money to live.

Use your words@useyourwords2.bsky.social

To preserve nature from those that want to destroy it you have to ask why they would do that to begin with In America and other places you need money to survive If people have a UBI you remove the need and pressure to do things for survival Another reason is nature isn’t held sacred by them

Two schools will receive funding in Maine for new construction. They received funding because they burned down, but many other schools have buildings like this one, a portable which has been in use for almost thirty years. Maine kids deserve better schools and better funding formula.

Yes! This is what we’re talking about. Taxing the ultra-rich out-of-staters to fund childcare, healthcare and education. Let’s go, Maine!

I understand posts like these are specifically designed to create rage bait engagement, but man, can we not? There are fewer pleasures in the world each day it seems- can’t we at least drive what we want/ need without someone saying we should drive a matchbox car, or better, ride a bike?
