Just go vote, Mainers, and get out the vote. Talk to folks you know. Canvass and make calls. (And ignore Bobby Charles crowing that he’s tied when every other poll is Pingree +10.). #mepolitics

The differences between registered voters and likely voters in this Marist poll look inplausble. Jackson +9 w/RV but +2 with LV. Pingree + 11 w/RV but tied with LV. #mepolitics maristpoll.marist.edu/polls/the-mi...

Maris Polls (rated as centrist or leaning very slightly left in bias ratings) puts Pingree and Bobby Chuckles even among *likely* voters, but Pingree has an 11 point lead among *registered* voters. Memo to registered Maine voters who aren't sure you'll bother: GET THE FUCK OUT AND VOTE!

Bobby Charles, Maine's GOP candidate for governor has been fined $32k for illegal campaign contributions by the state ethics board. This is the guy who has been accusing Hannah Pingree of "corruption" over perfectly normal grant awards that benefitted North Haven Island, where she lives.

If Troy Jackson loses to Susan Collins in 9 days (and I hope he doesn't), it will be because he held rallies with Bernie Sanders, Liz Warren, and AOC. Maine has rejected the far left "progressives" time after time, yet the Maine Democrats keep pushing them on us.

Make no mistake: Collins must go, we need her to lose. But I will never understand the people who think a state that is historically, on average, just a little left of center will vote for someone way to the left of center.

Holy shit. Apparently Leonard Leo has instructed the Maine Wire to be EXTRA bigoted this week. First they're filming Somali voters getting assistance from translators at the polls, now they're just outright saying they're not voting legally.

The new Pingree ad, with Bobby Chuckles telling "young women considering an abortion" to come by his office and he will tell them "how special they are" to talk them out of it, is pretty daming. What a creep-show.

Florida man Paul lepoage has got to go! Note" Paul LePgae has not had a permanent primary residence in Maine since before he was governor. Even as he ran in 2010, he was claiming his FL home as his primary residence. His Augusta address is a rented apartment he barely spends time in.

I think this #ME02 poll result of 53% unfavorable is very telling about the bone tiring weariness that comes from listening to a has been blowhard trotting out the same old act on and off again between Maine and Florida. #mepolitics #VoteBlue Send LePage to FL, vote @dunlapforcongress.bsky.social

In a 2010 GOP debate, he stated outright that he was just about to move to Florida when he decided to stay and run for governor. Many times during his term, he said he would be moving to FL as soon as the term was over. He has never shied away from talking about his preference for FL over ME.

In 2014 he bought a house in the Boothbay area, as a response to complaints that he didn't pay property taxes in Maine, while forcing towns to raise them to cover state funding losses. He never lived in it. After re-election the house was quietly sold without him setting foot in it.

Is the anti-Dunlap ad from CLF, comparing Dunlap to purple ketchup and frosted tips not the dumbest, cringiest, and worst ad of the season? Can't find the video online (probably for the best) but it reeks of "I'm a 50 year old man who thinks he knows how the kids talk these days, but I really don't"

Yesterday I received a lovely hand written postcard from a volunteer named Gail, asking me to vote for Troy Jackson. I was really impressed that Troy apparently has a team of dedicated volunteers who were sending personal appeals to Maine voters. Then I saw the postmark: Santa Barbara, CA.

Medicare for all, but not really Medicare. Defund, but not exactly. No prisons, except for this one guy I know. No borders for us, but everyone else had better keep us out... The consistent thing is they actually mean what they say & that is a scary thought, the shallow slogan/notion, the bigotries

It’s bullshit all the way down. One was a gun bill passed after the Lewiston shooting when even Jared Golden decided gun laws are too loose. Another one involved someone else lobbying at the firm Troy’s son works at and was a variant of a bill Troy already supported. ME press fails to explain.

I think the Collins camp is so over funded at this point they’re just tossing anything up on the wall. The attacks will likely sharpen around a tighter negative as the campaign proceeds plus her fluff. We must keep up intensity on issues and Collins inability to meet the moment. #MESen #mepolitics

Just curious, what's your take on the Collins supported ads that keep harping on Jackson and his son. I mean aside from them being bullshit with the Maine Wire and Washington Beacon as their "sources," do you think the message is actually resonating with voters?

Unpopular take: Apple and Google changing the name of Lake Ontario is not a political decision. Their systems are programmed to automatically update place names when they are changed by the USGS in their GNIS database. Not stopping this process is a politically neutral move.

By doing nothing, Apple Google and probably Garmin and TomTom have stayed out of the politics of the situation, and basically said "ok, so like everywhere else in the world we are simply recognizing the names officially given to these things." They're staying out of it, not capitulating to pressure.

When the next administration changes the names back all who get the data from GNIS will change them back automatically. I love that they did it but MapQuest's move to program their maps to ignore the GNIS designation for the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario was definitely the right political move.

It was also brilliant marketing: look how many people have rediscovered this forgotten mapping app from the 90s? Or discovered it for the first time? But there's a potential problem. Now that they have made this decidedly political decision, they could be under pressure in other jurisdictions to

This is one of my favorite Annie Liebowitz photos, from Rolling Stone in August 1977. It was the same issue that had George Lucas's first Star Wars interview with RS, which is the actual reason I still own that issue... Somewhere.

He was a 2016 delegate for Bernie and worked his 2020 campaign as well. He is a third generation logger with a history of labor activism dating back to the 1999 blockade of Canadian scabs coming to take Maine logging jobs. Platner played working class after fishing the Frenchman Bay for 3 years.

What's weird about this is that these folks have convinced themselves this was a DNC/AIPAC plot and keep dismissing Troy Jackson as the DNC's choice. Bullshit. The DNC -- who had nothing at all to do with the renomination process -- would not have selected Troy Jackson, an actual progressive.
