Sigh. There’s been a bunch of details coming out about what this game would’ve been like and it seems rad as hell. Such a shame.

Also, as much as I agree with all the Save Mass Effect petitions and what not. It really should be “Save BioWare” so THEY can make it. Care about the people who make the games, not just the games.

Finishing up the main story of Control Resonant tonight and hoping our municipal election doesn’t result in far right douches taking over our city council. #LdnOnt

As a Star Trek fan from a young age and also the child of Russian immigrants, Chekov was always a source of entertainment for us. Especially since his accent was insane lol. I know it’s how time works, but it’s a bummer that not many of the original cast are left.

Damn.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Not only an incredible talent, but a rare talent who also thought it was funny to just voice random memes every once in a while

Unbelievable loss. An amazing talent, and just a really, really good person. www.instagram.com/p/De8RFy4pyov/

I’m not the only person that’s had the thought, but it hit me a few hours into Resonant, this game is about COVID. And specifically kids that few up during lockdown. Imagine being locked in a room in 2019 and then emerging into whatever our world is in 2026. No wonder Dylan is weird.

In better gaming news, myself and the little one finished our first video game together. Over the last 6 weeks or so we’ve been playing the first Lego Batman in chunks. I had to help with some of the challenging, or janky, platforming sections but she did pretty well!

I’m too brain fried from spending the evening with a cranky 4 year old to begin to put thoughts together but man, a game industry without BioWare is just stupid. Yeah they’ve had some misses but I always had hope the next one would be a hit. I need to go back to my Mass Effect collection save soon.

I have a few items of N7 clothing still, and every time I wear them anywhere I get compliments from people. There are so many fans out there that would LOVE to come back to that world. It was always a fool’s hope that we would, and that it would be great, but still.

They killed Mass Effect. Again. I hate this timeline.

BioWare, founded in 1995 and acquired by EA in 2007, was a fan-favorite studio responsible for several big hits including Baldur's Gate, KOTOR, and Dragon Age Origins but has had some stumbles over the last decade. Around 50 staff had been working on a new Mass Effect that is now canceled.

I can’t man. This is too much. The whole industry is broken. Nothing means anything.

The closure of BioWare is a complete gut-punch. Join the rest of the @giantbomb.com community in processing the news and mourning the loss of a game studio's whose influence is undeniable. Link: forum.giantbomb.com/topic/807/ri... #gaming #bioware #gamenews #gamingnews #giantbomb

I’ve mentioned it before but if people are in a weird fiction mood because of Control Resonant I’d recommend the Southern Reach books. I finally got around to finishing up Absolution, not my favourite in the series but it’s still fun, weird, dreamlike sci-fi.

A match with a lot of rules can be fun. This is exactly the type of match I would’ve done with my wrestling toys as a kid with the rules written on some lined paper somewhere.

I had very little time to watch any this year but I’m excited for another year of awesome stuff!

The Street Fighter movie was pretty stupid in mostly the way you want. It has some truly awful dialogue and mostly flat, unfunny jokes. But there’s enough flashy style to keep one entertained. Our theatre hooted and hollered, multiple people had Guile bucket hats on. It was silly.

Carrie is really dang good. A fresh take on a story that’s been told many times. Like many I was surprised when it was announced, it felt unnecessary, but I trusted Flanagan to make something interesting and he really did. boxd.it/gGE8ff

boxd.itA ★★★★ review of Carrie (2026)I know he’s said it in interviews, Carrie didn’t need a remake. It’s been done, multiple times. But, what if they did something new? What if they made it about American school life in 2026? What if it...

I’m sure it’s not a priority for getting the game done and out the door, but man it’s a crime that Resonant didn’t launch with a photo mode. I want to take fancy screenshots so badly. Who is gonna see them? Probably just me!

Yay! Hopefully these people get paid and treated well! Zero Company is great and the people who worked hard on it deserve to be compensated.

We’re incredibly grateful for your support since the launch of STAR WARS Zero Company. Here’s a message from our CEO:

In our grade 9 tech class we had to do a presentation about a piece of technology we found interesting. I did mine about the GameCube and made sure to mention it had better looking games than the PS2.

Jeff Grubb@grubb.wtf

There are caveats because of the capacity of the GameCube's discs, but it's widely known that it and the Xbox were noticeably more powerful than the PS2, right?
