I'm really enjoying the Samsung update last night that has added extra AI to my home screen that I can't remove and has disabled some things I do actually use. Great job Samsung. Actually typing this out was far more difficult as the keyboard doesn't seem to fully work now?

First game of 40k 11th edition last night - the change wasn't as big as I had expected. We probably played some rules incorrectly but the game feels pretty familiar.

Chelmsford marathon. My first ever marathon done - and I don't know how to describe what it has done to me. Physically knackered and an emotional wreck. Worst and best day of my life

Finished the 8 Silver Helms I needed for a Battle March campaign I have signed up for. I really wish there were more flat shields

A dirty sweep of LotR games using my Morannon Orcs in, what was supposed to be a speed gaming evening and has since had the second word replaced. I definitely need to start getting back to gaming, it was really good fun talking crap and moving toys around the table. #wargaming

Second unit of High Elf archers - this unit from Ellyria. Again, I'm not a 100% happy with the banner, but we are getting the army moving.

After playing nothing but Heresy for a few years before Covid, it's odd that I've not really touched the game since. Today I tried 3rd edition for the first time. It's not an edtion I'm going to rush back to play, but I won't turn games down either - damned faint praise?

I spent the day getting on with a unit I very much doubt I would have enjoyed once the motivation ran out - a Tiranoc chariot for my High Elves. The colour scheme on this evolved as I worked on it - I didn't set out to do a yellow and blue banner for an absolute start

J'avance sur mes hallebardiers mais une unité de vingt figurines c'est long. J'ai fait des photos de mes vieilles figurines de l'Empire pour me motiver. #JdR #miniaturepainting #Warhammer #theoldworld #TheEmpire

Thurrock Park Run followed by a trip to my FLGS to buy a £30 model, only to find they had a High Elf battalion on the shelf . . . I was being so good as well.

This is definitely becoming a running account, which if you told me that a few months ago, I would have absolutely told you was rubbish. Chase The Sun 10km at Battersea Park with my mate.

That was massively underwhelming. Sat in a park with my family to see a once in a generational event, and if I hadn't known it was going on, I doubt I would have noticed? My kids certainly didn't. It got a touch darker and colder?

I went for a little Park Run touristing today with my brother. It helped that I needed the A and they are hard to come by riund my way. Strava gave me a park run PB by a healthy margin, then my official Park Run time too it straight away.

Having a slower week of running to get over last week's half marathon, so my wife surprised me with a 4 hour drive to Shrewsbury to do The Rocky Horror Picture Show 10km. Dreadful time as I am just exhausted but it was a fun experience that I would like to do again next year - probably in costume?

At the point in the marathon training where I'm doing half marathons as my long run every week, so I figured at least a couple of them should be medalled. That was way too hot. *and no, there hasn't been much wargaming recently

A test unit of Slaaneshi marines for an idea in my head. I wanted to try painting a cheap squad before committing to a project I might be sick of 2 figures in.

And a cheeky Slaaneshi Sorcerer for the same project. The question is whether I buy a couple of units of daemons and do the combat patrol - or more marines and do a full army. I think I'll enjoh painting this project if I don't do my normal big batches

The first Forgefiend for my World Eaters from the Combat Patrol magazine. For a model I love using in game, they are horrible models to have to paint.

I have a game of MEBSG (LotR) in a couple of weeks, so I'm doing what I always do when I have a game lined up - panic painting something completely new. Morannon Orcs - I need 39, and thanks to a tip off on the Meeples Podcast a few years back from Mike Hobbs, I happen to have 3 sprues to hand. . .

Carrying on with the project, Gothmog, general of the Morannon Orcs. While I have absolutely no plan to use this in the game next week, I know my opponent follows me on a different platform, so I'm laying a false trail.

More project Wind-Up with a Nazgul on Fellbeast, that, again, isn't being used in my list but I want my opponent to see and worry about. I am so pleased to have this model done, it's been maturing in a shelf for so long that the dust meant I thought it was sprayed grey.

Both in the same week that I did another evening 10km at the Olympic Park. It's weird how much you can get done with a bit of sleep and a bit of motivation. #Runthrough

I also finished this little Coca-Cola wagon for my oo9 railway. I have a pair sitting on my painting desk - one lined up to be a Purple Moose wagon once I work out how to do the decals. This one was annoying me so I repainted it and used some decals I had in stock. #OO9 #NarrowGauge

I have come to the conclusion that there are only 3 models/units in the new Armageddon boxset that I actually want - although, I will take more Intercessors if they are chesp enough. I just can't justify the rest of it going into the backlog, especially at the price it is.

A couple of games in the last few days with the new Rogal Dorn. Those tanks are amazing. I cannot express how much they do in a game. Now to buy a second?

Goodbye Tom, you were a great rabbit. You looked tatty as in your later years, but 11 isn't bad going. The spicy spaghetti will be safe now.

Completed the Colchester Zoo Stampede 10km. My slowest ever race day 10km but I ran along side a mate through a zoo, so I enjoyed myself a hell of a lot.

I finished a couple of characters for my eldar/aeldari craftworld. An Autarch and Spiritseer. I've tried adding the bronze colour for bits where the black wasn't quite right and I'm far more pleased.

I ran the Basildon 10km today on a dodgy knee - my most local medal race yet being a galf hour walk from my house. Not my best time, but it was never going to be. Also a real pity that I am 95% sure the posters and medal art are all AI

I spent yesterday training to use the new digital voting booking in system that is being rolled out for the local elections next week. I don't think enough people are talking about how easy it is to find out who voted for what. You can scan the QR code on the ballot and see who they are inc address

Don't get me wrong, the old system that was theoretically possible if you were happy to do about 3 different cross references on different paper based systems, but a single QR code. You can now scan the whole pile of a single party and see who voted for them and where they live.

Sure! We had someone do proper photography of the event so I didn't take a whole lot of pictures but I don't have those pictures yet

Second half marathon today with my sister in law at Holkham Hall. A very different half marathon, the training is definitely helping but it still wasn't easy. Knocked about 10 minutes off my PB and was very nearly sub-2 hours. Next time!

Operation Get Stuff Painted - a unit of chaos havocs who have been sitting on my desk for a fair few months. Nothing special about the paint job, just quick and dirty to get them done.

Another week with a game booked. This week we got my War of the Roses stuff out last minute. The Duke of Norfolk vs Sir Andrew Trollope. What should have been a quick Yorkist victory ended up conclusive Lancastrian one instead.

To scratch an itch inside my head, here is a squad of the newly created chapter - The Void Claws. A single Wolf Scout squad to keep the brain chemicals happy.
