Congratulations to Pillay, our hospital chef and Mildmay's August/September MVP! Nominated and voted for by colleagues for making every meal enjoyable. Good food matters for patients' comfort and staff morale alike.

Evening view from Mildmay: the spire of St Leonard's, Shoreditch, against the last of the sunset. Mildmay has been part of this corner of east London since the 1860s.

Happy Independence Day, Uganda. With warmest wishes from the Mildmay family to communities across the country, as we celebrate your strength, your stories and your bright future.

Thank you to West Green Baptist Church in Tottenham, who have once again brought the produce from their Harvest Thanksgiving service to Mildmay. Their gifts will help our catering team prepare meals for our patients. #HarvestFestival

Last week Mildmay chef Pillay and Specialist Dietitian Kattya were at #HCL26 in Birmingham. Proud to see Mildmay meeting many standards, such as cutting food waste, plastic and carbon. "We built a wider network with other NHS sites and industry in an ever-changing area of the NHS."

A proud moment for our hospital: our latest infection prevention and control inspection went extremely well, with several areas highlighted for excellent standards. Thank you to everyone whose hard work made it happen.

“Everyone has been so kind, caring, warm & attentive. You all have made me feel so welcome & well again!” Addressed to “all nurses and carers at Mildmay”, the handwritten card is now on display in reception – and has made everyone’s day. Thank you, and thank you, team. 💙

15 weeks to go! If you've signed up (brilliant) or you're thinking about it (please do), now's a reasonable time to start building up. A couple of 20-minute walks or easy jogs this week is plenty. 5K or 10K on 21 November, Victoria Park. redrun.org.uk #REDRUNLDN #TakeActionLaceUp

Why do we run? Not for the time, or the medal. Because the HIV sector still needs visible, vocal, funded support -- and the World AIDS Day RED RUN on 21 November is one of the best ways to give it. Sign up at redrun.org.uk and run or walk for Mildmay. #REDRUNLDN #MoreThanARun

The World Cup begins today . Billions of people around the world, watching the same thing at the same time. At Mildmay, we see that spirit of connection every day, in our patients, staff, volunteers and partners from across the globe. Whichever team you're supporting, enjoy! #WorldCup #Community

Today is International Nurses Day - 12 May, Florence Nightingale's birthday. At Mildmay, our nurses are at the heart of everything we do. They meet patients with skill, patience, and the belief that everyone deserves dignity and a chance to recover. Happy International Nurses Day 2026.

Our Estates & Facilities Manager, George, was at #IPC26 this week. Infection control can include air, surfaces, spaces and people. The more we learn, the better we can protect our patients, visitors and staff.

This week the our clinical team shared their research and learning, with presentations on dysphagia innovation, homelessness and neuropsychology, AI in HIV education, and frailty in people living with HIV. Thank you to Gilead Sciences for their support. www.mildmay.nhs.uk/post/celebra...
