Electronics, synthesisers, retro computing, art, crafts, cooking, living, breathing. Scotland 🏴will be better as an independent nation, like the hundreds of other independent nations. There's seldom a solution if the problem is profitable.

UK energy systems are lagging behind advances, the stagnation in investment in grid upgrades, and the stymying of regional variation, ensures renewables companies in Scotland are making massive profits, practically none of which is transferred to reductions in Scots bills, but fills WM coffers...

If Job Centres end up teaching "Entrepreneurial Classes", the unemployed will all become experts at offsetting their side-hustle losses with their other side-hustle losses. After a few months, they'll just wheel in the Army 'work coach' to persuade you to die for your great leader...

(Stopping the big 50 Years Of Thatcherism tombola to look at the latest card) “Entrepreneurship classes for the unemployed” (Everyone groans at my shit)

I've noticed absolutely everything I receive from abroad ends up at the Braintree sorting office before being shipped up to Scotland, adding days to reception. My address is fine. As far as I can figure out, Braintree is where all the 'failed' auto-sorted mail goes. Anyone else?

Will Andy Burnham also admit the 2014 Scottish referendum was interfered with, not just by English party MPs travelling up here to campaign for No, but by the PM of the time himself, as well as bodies set up supposedly to promote Scotland abroad, not undermine it...

Farrukh@implausibleblog.bsky.social

Andy Burnham confirms what previous PM's - May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak and Starmer - failed to, that Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum.

7,000 social homes a year will barely slow crisis growth. I suppose Labour can't invest too much in the good things, otherwise ScotGov will receive far too many consequentials. (Bain)

Some might think this exaggeration, but abolishment of what we regard as true "slavery" happened over a very long period of time, and the (re)introduction of income tax came just four years later, effectively enslaving us all instead, whilst the wealthiest aristocracy/royals are still dodging taxes.

“Since 2012, Palantir has hired personnel from across the top tiers of the Ministry of Defence, Department of Health and Social Care, NHS, Home Office, Foreign Office, UK Health Security Agency, Crown Commercial Service, secret service and Downing Street.

It's WM trying to double dip into Scots pockets, again. We already contribute considerably toward defence spending, just like we already contribute toward everything else reserved, including WM spending allocated as Scottish spending and labelled as a 'deficit'...

Trying to convince Scots SME's who once freely exported and imported with the EU and are now struggling, that the Brexit disaster can somehow be cured with a pep talk, is an utter waste of Scotland Office funding. A glorious offshoot of the highly unsuccessful blue Tories Festival of Brexit...

Well. That meme's bollocks. Aside from certain types of DJ'ing loving the stuff, vinyl's never really gone out and it's coming back stronger year on year. Slabs are still very collectable.

Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free. Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.

There's an easy way to tax billionaires, without directly taxing billionaires, that also reduces poverty, particularly people in work but also claiming benefits: Raise the minimum wage to above the living wage.

Careful. The SNP gets lots of stick for still blaming Thatcher for X&Y. Turns out Brighton council (and all others) could revolt against the stipulation that council house sales cash could not (generally) be used to create new council housing stock. They just didn't, until now. Why the delay?
