Always wanted to post one of these!

I'm going to San Francisco between 25.11. and 5.12. and I would love to hear your recommendations for who I should meet along with all other tips and tricks you might have.

I'm particularly interested in people with visions for utopias of human flourishing and concrete, pragmatic plans for how to get there and avoid all harms on the way. Bonus points for founders and builders trying to lead and inspire that change themselves.

If you know anybody fitting the above descriptions or where to find and how to reach them in San Francisco, leave a comment, tag them or shoot me a direct message! Thank you! 💙

- thinking about the future of human work, purpose and flourishing - building benevolent recommender systems, AI agents and algorithms - exploring truly sustainable and aligned business and funding models - scaling businesses around real-life experiences, networks and connections

- growing authentic mission-driven zero-fluff platforms and personal brands - with concrete utopistic visions and eccentric personal philosophies - tackling real, hard problems like poverty, hunger and energy - interested in systems, coordination problems and connection

Just had one of my favorite meetings probably ever. Nothing but good news and praise for the recently launched agent I've been working on for the whole summer.

I'm not complaining though. It's really invigorating to hear such overwhelmingly positive updates once in a while when the routine of a developer so often consists only of issues, problems, bugs and an infinitely growing backlog.

Remember to occasionally pass on the positive feedback too. I'm starting to finally feel the imminent hockey stick and am having a hard time trying to visualize stepping away from the computer for the weekend. Hoping for similarly energizing meetings for everybody!

I didn't even have time to get to my updates to it in the midst of stories of our fastest sales conversions ever, valuable big-ticket deal upgrades and various exciting prospects and projects coming up!

My hypothesis on the general reverse age polarization of opinions on AI is that young people have the most to lose in terms of years lived and meaningful work produced and can afford patience while old folk have a higher risk appetite for once due to the incredible possibilities

However, as a result of the increased conversation around the topic as of late, I am now more hopeful about the coordination problems involved as well and I'm looking forward to exploring the topic further in AaltoAI’s safety fellowship program starting this week.

I took a brief break in Lofoten for a few days while waiting for feedback from our agent launch and am now back to automating myself out of a job, exactly as predicted by the AI 2027 scenario.

This uncanny accuracy of the predictions in addition to the latest containment breach incidents taken with the theory of instrumental convergence puts my intellectual P(doom) quite high, even if I haven't quite managed to reconcile it with my inherent instinctual optimism yet.

Humanity might be toast by 2030 and thus its best to hedge our bets by building towards a positive vision of the future while simultaneously remembering to enjoy the moment.

For me this tends to look like a 995 work schedule—the Nordic 996 if you will—where I try to maximize my productivity during the week, including studies and personal projects, but make sure to try keep the weekends to ensure I'm still enjoying the present moment.

This has been a major driving force behind my latest spontaneous traveling, student life renaissance and overall sidequestmaxxing for a few years already.

It really is starting to feel like the final sprint for traditional software development before it all converges onto loop engineering for good that's just all about creating the environments in which the software evolves semi-autonomously as new capabilities are required.

Fine-tuning the behavior of AI agents like the Clarvo agent we launched in open beta last week requires such high velocity iteration that it doesn't make sense for a human to touch the code anymore after setting the initial system shape.

Architecting the system and the infrastructure on which it runs is still important, but once there is a robust framework for the agent to exist and evolve in, you need to just get out of the way.

With good enough evals, it's almost better to not read the code and the prompts too closely apart from general sanity checks in order to not get too attached to any of it, as it'll look completely different on the next iteration.

I've been experiencing this from our customers on almost an hourly basis ever since we first teased our Clarvo AI agent and started showing its development build in demo meetings and so I am finally happy to announce that it is here in open beta: clarvo.ai

Just watched Spider-Man: Brand New Day and I couldn't help but notice the not-so-subtle mass surveillance propaganda, so casually used and persistently returned to by none other than the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, the most relatable of all the heroes..

Given what a house of cards project it is to build functional AI agents, my hopes for general alignment are not all too high

Shoes should be more like commodities. I just want to be able to walk into a store and buy the same black sneakers I got last year but now it's a whole show every time having to try on a bunch of new ones and still end up with something worse

The reason for why people feel betrayed after discovering something to be AI generated even if they initially liked it is that they thought they were connecting with another person through their art only to discover that there never was anybody there.

Yes, you had all the same experiences, felt the same emotions, and had the same revelations and inspiration, but all of that would be recontextualized if you suddenly discovered that your good friend had outsourced his part of your heartfelt letter exchange to cheap labor and never even looked at it

Today was the first time I've ever been criticized for being too relaxed to the degree of having been perceived as unprofessional.

I've missed out on a corporate job twice for not being a culture fit due to my too entrepreneurial constitution but being called out for correcting my severely low glucose levels, which I've been routinely doing for 13 years already as a type 1 diabetic caught me off-guard.

Lesson learned is to try to be aware of the differences between what is normal to you and what might not be for others and remember to mention why you're eating candy in a client call 😂
