Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley has memories flipping off opposing team buses as a kid growing up in north Jersey Now he’s got another memory at the Meadowlands — his first win as an NFL head coach More, on a Dolphins team that finally learned how to win www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/...

espn.comJeff Hafley, Dolphins hold off Jets, then revel in first win of seasonThe Dolphins snapped a five-game losing streak to win their first game of the season, holding off a late New York Jets rally for a 28-25 victory.

Malik Willis said Jeff Hafley asked the Dolphins offense if they wanted to go for it on 4th and 1 from midfield — and they said yes He credited the OL for getting enough push to convert

The 0-17 talk is dead in Miami Dolphins get their first win of the season, 28-25 over the Jets Playing with a lead for the first time this season, Jeff Hafley's team was resilient despite a late comeback effort from NYJ

Dolphins go for it and get it -- first down on the Malik Willis tush push Jeff Hafley's about to get his first win as an NFL head coach

Dolphins have a decision to make with 4th and 1 from midfield A first down here effectively ends the game, but turning the ball over on downs give the Jets a short field with 2 minutes remaining Big moment here for Jeff Hafley

Jets are now out of timeouts with 3:04 remaining in the game Dolphins just went 21 yards in their first two plays of this drive, it's now 2nd and 3 from their own 49

Little things we're learning about the Dolphins today, including how they play with a lead Immediately after scoring on the long Caleb Douglas TD, they allow the Jets to go 65 yards in 7 plays to bring the score to 28-25 with 3:24 remaining in the game This game is not over

Caleb Douglas just scored on a 63-yard TD, but there's a flag in the backfield... Dolphins OL is signaling the TD will stand -- and it does! Refs wave off the flag and the Dolphins take a possibly insurmountable 28-17 lead with 4:444 remaining in the game

Chop Robinson sacks Geno on 3rd and goal -- but man Zayne Anderson made that play happen Got to the flat quickly and erased the Mason Taylor slide route, forcing Geno to eat the sack Dolphins lead 21-17 with 8:57 remaining in the game

Braelon Allen has been a problem for the Dolphins in the second half. After finishing with 23 yards on 5 carries in the first half, he's now up to 105 yards on 15 carries, and has the Jets on the 1-yard line with a chance to tie this game

Little surprised Malik Willis didn't take a shot to Caleb Douglas there on 2nd and 2 -- had 1-on-1 coverage and thought Douglas had a step on Azareye'h Thomas Dolphins wind up converting on 3rd and 2 anyways

Touchdown Jets -- Geno finds Omar Cooper Jr. from 3 yards out, Dolphins lead is cut to 21-14 with 5:50 left in the 3Q Cooper is the first wide receiver with 100yds vs the Dolphins this season

This feels a hell of a lot closer to the version of Malik Willis the Dolphins envisioned when they signed him He's been decisive/accurate with his arm, productive with his legs today We may see a side of Jeff Hafley's team that we've never seen before as they look to protect a two-score lead

Malik Willis keeps it himself for his second rushing TD of the season - lowered his shoulder into Minkah Fitzpatrick and finished the run at the end of the play Looked like Chris Bell had some words for Fitzpatrick after but nothing came of it Dolphins lead 21-7 with :06 til HT

We are witnessing by far Malik Willis' best game of the season 9/12, 113 yards and a TD through the air; 3 carries for 28 yards on the ground. Still 3 min left in the first half

Dolphins TE Greg Dulcich is having a massive day. His career-high is 87 rec. yards back in 2022 -- he's already at 71 today midway through the second quarter

Dolphins defense holds firm, Michael Taaffe jumps the route and picks off Geno Smith at the 13-yard line to halt a promising Jets drive Miami takes over, as hot as they've been all season on offense

Dolphins go for it on 4th and 1 from the 2-yard line and get the first down on Ollie Gordon's dive over the pile Gordon punches in his fourth TD of the season on the next play, Dolphins lead 14-7 with a minute left in the first quarter

That Dolphins lead didn't last long, touchdown Jets -- TE Mason Taylor (6'5") goes up and over Jason Marshall (6'0") for a 13-yard score on 3rd and 10 Impressive grab by the son of Dolphins legend Jason Taylor 4 plays, 65 yards for NYJ there

It does! Malik Willis hits Caleb Douglas on 3rd and goal for a 7-yard TD -- the first of Douglas' career The Dolphins are up 7-0 for their first lead of the 2026 season

Dolphins just went 34 yards on their first two plays from scrimmage, then Malik Willis hits Greg Dulcich for 33 yards -- might be their best start to an opening drive all season With 1st and goal from the 4-yard line, will this drive end with their first lead of the season?

Lot of talk about the Jets’ rainy home games — but this is my 8th game at Metlife and every one of them has been sunny Some were cold! But today is perfect

Dolphins QB coach Bush Hamdan on Willis: "We all want this to be a straight line of perfect development -- but there's gonna be ups & downs. I just keep going back to his athleticism; at times it's a superpower & at times, trying to make all those extra plays is something you've gotta be aware of."

Dolphins OC Bobby Slowik: "I don't think anybody thinks the pass game is where we want it to be ... I just don't think everybody on the field sees the game through the same lens." Said it's his responsibility to make sure the entire offense is on the same page

First injury report of the week for Dolphins-Jets Limited sessions for Caleb Douglas and Kyle Louis. Malik Willis received treatment for his right (throwing hand) thumb but was a full participant

Dolphins rookie Kyle Louis' 21-day practice window will open today,, per Hafley. His status for Sunday is up in the air, Hafley says they're happy to get him back for now and want to see where he's at physically this week

Dolphins HC Jeff Hafley reiterates the team's passing game must improve: "Malik needs to be better, but that's not the headline -- we all need to be better ... everything in the pass game has to be better.. It's the receiver, it's the tight ends, it's the protection."

crashing out for a follow back 👍🏾

i get it, i don't have 50k followers (which doesn't benefit you) like i did on the nazi app, but THE LEAST you can do is hit the fucking follow button. way too many mfers were friendly on the other app because it helped them but won't give a nobody the time of day over here. smd, respectfully

Dolphins HC Jeff Hafley on how his offense played vs CIN: “You can’t turn the ball over three times — you can’t do it … You’re never going to win a game turning the ball over three times, and then when we get to the 1-yard line, we’ve got to score.” Added that he thought they ran the ball well

Dolphins QB Malik Willis: “We have to hold each other accountable— because we can’t keep doing this to ourselves. If we’re gonna be in the game against good teams, we gotta be able to take advantage of it and win those games. Because there’s no point in being in the game if we can’t go win.”

Malik Willis scores on the 1-yard rn to cut the Bengals lead to 31-24 with :45 left — but Riley Patterson misses the PAT Dolphins attempt the onside kick to keep hope alive, but don’t get it. And *that* will do it from a game that’s ending was far more exciting than its first 50 minutes

Touchdown Dolphins Malik Willis rolls out and hits Kevin Coleman Jr. in the endzone for his second TD pass of the season Dolphins go for two and get it -- Willis threads the needle to Greg Dulcich Bengals lead 28-18 with 7:13 remaining

Dolphins convert the 4th and 1 with :09 left, but Dulcich isn't able to get out of bounds and the half ends Bengals lead 21-7, and Miami's offense has completely stalled out after an opening TD 3 plays, 1 yd -- PUNT 3 plays, 22 yds -- INT 3 plays, 6 yds -- INT 7 plays, 47 yds -- End of Half

Dolphins inactives vs the Bengals: WR Caleb Douglas, RB Kaytron Allen, CB Reese Taylor, DE Rob Beal Jr., OL DJ Campbell, TE Justin Joly, OL Chukwuebuka Godrick

Dolphins QB Malik Willis: “We were moving the ball, but when we had opportunities to hit on big play (we didn’t hit them) or a penalty brought them back. Is the little details like that.”

That's game -- Dolphins fall to 0-4 with a 15-10 loss to the Vikings Miami's defense played good enough to win, despite the monster game from TJ Hockenson (13 tar., 13 rec., 119 yds) but its offense had nothing through the air today Dolphins are close to a win, offense needs to pull its weight

Dolphins get on the board with a 27-yard FG by Riley Patterson, they trail 9-3 with 12 minutes left in the 3Q Drive stalled after the 53-yard run by Ollie Gordon but points are points, and it makes this a one-score game

Vikings get a third FG as time expires in the first half to take a 9-0 lead over the Dolphins Miami's defense playing well, offense not so much Total yards MIN: 147 MIA: 76
