X-Acto blades. Cheapskates are made, not born. My father was a house painter. I learned a lot of from him. He and mom taught me how to be cheap, i.e. “not paying more than necessary.” For most of my cutting needs, this thing (whatever it’s called) and a single-edge razor blade does the trick.

Obsessed with Dales. Starting with the treatment of Scottsdale on "Imposters". They suggested that one of the characters could "totally" be mayor of Scottsdale, as if it were some quirky small town like Globe or Quartzite or Bisbee. #vectorgraphic #dalegribble #dales

Then I thought that the founders of cities in the Phoenix area did not stick with convention - they had Scottsdale and Glendale - but then nothing else? Maricopa county should have nothing but GuysNameDales - are there any WomensNameDales? - Fredsdale, Chuysdale, etc.

This led me to see what dales I could come up with: Lauderdale, Irwindale, Scarsdale (TonyMontanasdale?), Lawndale, Clydesdale. Then there's the fictional ones: Ferndale, Drysdale. My own creations: Dalesdale, Chipndale.

I used this as a squeegee to stretch watercolor paper for years before I figured out what it was. It's a piece of frame and weather stripping from a car side-window. I can't tell if it's from the window or the door. It left black streaks, so I got a "real" squeegee. #art #tools #painting #duh
