If you are ever like “these night meds I have been taking for years probably don’t do anything to make me sleep anymore” go ahead and forget to take your night meds and see how that goes and you’ll find out exactly how artificial your sleep has become and how much you miss it when it is gone.

We have only lived in this house for over five and a half years, a totally normal amount of time to get up the courage to turn on the gas fireplace myself. It is reasonable not to trust invisible, flammable gases and anyone who says otherwise should be treated with intense suspicion.

Hats off to the marketing wing of Atolea. Not only do they tout a solution to a problem no one has (gold jewerlry that “fades”), now the ads say owning their jewelry saves money in the long run because it teaches you to identify quality. I mean come on.

I was just treated to a lecture on all the ways that my 9 yo’s plan to use cameras to make something seem invisible was doomed to fail. This lecture was delivered by my 9 yo and he did not bother to tell me what the camera plan was to begin with, he just launched into how bad of an idea it was.

Like I do at times feel like a scientific journal, with one small scientist making constant complex and usually pointless submissions. Like you don’t need to give me six reasons it won’t work, everyone knows it won’t work.

Do you ever put off a task so long and so thoroughly that you’re pretty sure you’ve ruined your own life by doing so and then when you finally get up the courage to look at the mess you’ve made, it turns out everything‘s fine and you have been worrying over absolutely nothing? Me either.

I don’t know who at Wendy’s thought that changing the spicy chicken sandwich after 30 years was a good idea but that person should not only be fired, they should be brought before CONGRESS. Why would ANYONE do this? It was the perfect sandwich! Pickles? Why? A different bun? Go fuck yourself.

I don’t CARE if the new sandwich is objectively better. That’z not why I come to Wendy’s and order the spicy chicken combo. I come to Wendy’s and order a spicy chicken combo because it has been unchanged since at least 1998 with the exception of the time in 2010 or so when they improved the fries.

It seems the fancy new automatic cat feeder will allow me to record a sound of my choosing to train the cat to come when that sound is made. The possibilities here are so exciting, I need to do some serious soul-searching about this.

ATTENTION EVERYONE please show me a photo of your dog or cat and tell me about the job they would have if they had a job. This is important data collection for a scientific study I’m doing right now for science.

I will start. This is Sally. If she had a job, it would be as one of those dogs that herd only geese that don’t really need to be herded at all but put up with it anyway rather than take flight.

The job needs to not be like Dr because that’s insane. It needs to be something a dog or cat could actually do for a job and has been known to do for a job like a drug sniffing dog or a seizure alert dog or a service cat (I guess?).

If you truly can’t think of anything, it’s fine if you make up a human job your dog or cat would do because part of the scientific data collection is to get photos of dogs and cats and have a little giggle about animals with jobs.

In SC, you can sign up to get all the orders the SC Supreme Court spits out and a lot of them are boring like “this is the form we use now” BUT some of them are “this guy you hate was laundering drug money through his firm so he can’t practice for a minute” and so it is worth all the boring stuff.

I bet it is profiling me as an “incompetent manchild whose idea of ‘a luxurious Italian meal made at home’ is pathetic but at least he’s clean” because I bought cheap body wash, frozen lasagna, a bag of Caesar salad, and some pumpkin donuts for delivery earlier.
