It does make me wonder if the fact that Talarico's TX house seat being in Travis has really motivated some dems to bank their vote earlier than normal. We saw the dem share of the vote drop over time in '24 but it was a bit more gradual than this.

One thing I've noticed with this election is that Republicans are shooting themselves in the foot not keeping their county early vote centers open for the fully alotted 12 hours.

5,145 mail ballots counted in Travis County. This is now a R+5 shift with the versus the mail '24. Not a great signal for a blue wave.

Say away from the line-based vibe analysis and just wait for the daily rosters!

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

Mistake I see in turnout analyses is confusing *voting lines* & *high turnout*. You can have high turnout in a place that planned for it, has tons of locations/staff, & see no lines! Or middling turnout in a place that doesn't care to help, enough to trigger long lines!

Trump: "My decision on Russia is simple... Russia is doing very little, if anything, to help Iran, compared to what they could be doing ... Zelenskyy is using refineries as a target, knowing attacks are seriously hurting ... He could have made better deal 2 years ago. His country is in shambles ..."

Another way to view this is that 2.26% of '24 D's have voted and 1.46% of '24 R's have voted already. So, in from that perspective dems are looking good with mail. Strange...

RACE RATING CHANGE: Texas Senate Tilt D → Lean D James Talarico currently has an 65% chance of winning. Our model puts his projected margin at 2.4 points, smaller than an average polling error.

The *vibes* of the TX senate race feel similar to 2018 but the polling this time around has Talarico as a pretty significant favorite. Beto was a fairly heavy underdog but beat his polls by about 4 points.

Huang's phone number/address analogy being rightfully clowned on. A better one would be GPS and getting directions. I think it's pretty wild how little intuition people have for where they are going these days.
