Season 8, Episode 5 of Law & Order titled "Nulification" could've been written today but it's from 1997. The difference is that back then the alt-right groups were recognized the lunatics they are instead of as "patriots".

@housedemocrats.bsky.social it would be really nice if you all could pull together a winning strategy for the 26 midterms. Find a way to focus on issues that affect ALL Americans, like the economy, inflation, women's reproductive rights, etc. Find common ground with 50-60% of this country.

In 2015 I worked customer service for a large bread company. One day a woman called saying she needed to let us know that the Chinese were putting parasites in our bread. When asked how she knew this, she said she'd overheard 2 doctors talking about it in the bread aisle.

When she asked them about it, they pretended like they didn't know what she was talking about, so she knew it was true & wanted to warn us. We all got a good laugh & blew it off. Today, that woman would've called a republican in Congress directly & a full investigation would take place.

I'm in my 50's and have stage IV metastatic breast cancer. There is currently no cure. Without the tireless efforts of scientists working daily to find cures for my disease and others, I probably would've died years ago. I also have amazing doctors, nurses, phlebotomists, imaging technicians,

palliative care, social workers, etc. All of these well-educated, trained, licensed, professional people who get up every day to help people like me & you. No one is going to want these jobs if they're prevented from following science and research. They're already leaving. Especially OB/GYN's.
