Pork ramen tonight. Quick version without the boiling of bones! #ramen #porkramen #gelledeggs

Sarabande Africaine: Angélique Kidjo & Yo-Yo Ma. Pritzger Pavilion Chicago. Was not expecting the Talking Heads! Excellent show. Yo-Yo Ma is a spry one! 😂 You can tell when performers are actually having fun together. #yoyoma #angéliquekidjo #pritzgerpavilion #cso #talkingheads #cello

I must of died and gone to heaven. Finally a beautiful Sunday morning breakfast in the garden. Perfect temp, sun is out and I have not heard ONE lawn mower, weed wacker, airplane of train horn for a couple hours. Stunning! #quietzone #morninginthegarden #japanesegarden #zen #butterflychair

Tony Paul Occasional Tables for Thinline –1960s. I bought them at a flea a few months ago and finally got around to cleaning them, touching up the paint and reassembling. Adjustable height…one salmon, one cream and one robin’s egg blue. #tonypaul #thinline #mccobb #occasionaltable #cigarettetable

Found a set of Yamazaki Gone Fishin’ flatware the other day at a thrift. If I buy another two soup spoons online, I’ll have enough for ten settings. Good stuff. 18-8 stainless steel. Made in Japan. #Yamazaki #GoneFishin #utensils #flatware #dinnerware #stainless #madeinjapan #fish

Tomatoes are falling out of the sky! #cherrytomatoes #basil #mozzarella #capresesalad #oliveoil #seasalt #grilledporkchop #pistachiopesto

My tomatoes are coming in fast and furious. Great time of the year. #cherrytomatoes #basil #mozzarella #seasalt #caprese

Koi pond is getting a bit shaggy. Need some pruning, weeding and a few water lettuce plants removed. #koi #koipond

Few shots from the garden tonight! #perennials #gardens #coneflowers #nativeplants #butterflyweed

Vintage 1950s #GlennRichardson #Haeger #Glenwoodbison sculpture. Unusual for Haeger. #bison #buffalo

Picked up this interesting #woodsculpture yesterday. Much of it appears to have been charred using the Japanese technique of #ShouSugiBan. Its heavy as hell and well preserved. Really interesting shape, color and detail. #abstractsculpture #naturalwoodart

Beautiful morning in my garden watching the koi eat. #koi #pond #fish #goldfish #butterflykoi

Feeding time. They are loving the warmer weather. #koi

France called. They want their lawn sprinkler back! #statueofliberty #lawnsprinkler #france #amerikkka

Finally!!! Things are growing. Spring has sucked here. It has been cold, windy and stormy. Lots of trees down! But, the storms are behind us for the moment and it looks like we are going from the 40’s to the 80’s as usual, so things will happen fast. #japanesegarden #koi #japanesemaple

#Bibimbap tonight! Love to make this one. Looks great, tastes great! Such a great combination of flavors topped off by a spicy #Gochujang sauce. #korean #ricebowl

1962 Vintage Blenko Glass #Decanter Bottle #Model6225l by #WayneHusted. Found a few days ago WITH THE STOPPER! Excellent. The shape and textured are relatively rare according to a few #Blenko experts online. #artglass #studioglass #60s #stratalines

Found a #TibetanSingingBowl the other day. Cool sound. Today we had a massive storm, trees down everywhere. No power for the last 7 hours. So what better time to light up some candles, grab a glass of wine, and ring the bowl to soothe nerves from today’s storm. #soundhealing #soundtherapy

My kitchen breakfast nook. #richardmccarthy chairs, #Eames table, #georgenelson #bubblelamp and a #PoulHundevad #Rosewood #SecretaryCabinet That’s a lot of stuff in a small space! #danish #mcm #midcentury #hermanmiller #knoll #dansk #selrite #pillsburydoughboy

Big ass #RedtailedHawk has been eyeing up my #koi this week. He or some other hawk hit the water last summer with me standing 10-feet away. Didn’t get one, but he tried! There’s a couple in the tree across the alley behind my house. #koi #koipond #predators #hawks #raptors

From Wikipedia: Akabeko (赤べこ, Akabeko, red cow) is a legendary cow from the Aizu region of Japan, who inspired a traditional toy. In legend, Akabeko the cow was present at the building of the Enzō-ji temple of Yanaizu in the ninth century. Cute as a button!

Early start on #StPatricksDay! #Cornedbeef sliders with a #ColdTimeBeer. At #thewaitingroom in #valparaisoindiana. And they were playing #milesdavis #bitchesbrew! Great! Thanks Ashley!

Spotted this nice little Takahashi bud vase in a church thrift a few weeks ago. Still there yesterday so I grabbed it. Really nice green/brown glaze and I love the square shape. Stopping the glaze 3/4s down the side and exposing the raw clay is nice touch too. #takahashi #japan #budvase #glaze

Three “kinda” mystery glass pieces I own. I believe the lamp on the left is a #muranoglass lamp, the tall #swungvase is possibly #LESmith, although I’ve never seen another, and the little guy I believe is an Italian decanter. Lots of green! #swungglass #murano #mcm #midcentury #italianglass

Shrimp, sausage, peppers, tomatoes and onions. First dinner outside of 2025. It was seventy degrees out earlier, but the weather is still good enough to eat dinner outside tonight! Fantastic. Maybe 80 on Friday, but that usually means severe weather! We’ll see. #shrimp #sausage #peppers #dinner

My daughter getting a BIT carried away with the raking of waves in my Japanese gravel garden. Looks like a Keith Haring painting! My kids bought this rake for me for Father’s Day, so she’s working it out! Extreme! 😀 The last image is a more refined raking by me. #japanesegarden #gravelgarden

Sun is out, it’s 54 degrees, so I gave my Japanese gravel garden it’s first cleaning of 2025. Felt good to be out working with the rake! Got the hammock out too. Still works fine. 😀 1st shot today, 2nd late spring, 3rd summer, 4th fall. #japanesegravelgarden #japanesegarden #rakinggarden #seasons

Pics of summer’s #tomato harvest. I’m going to try and trellis them differently this year. I made cages for the last ten years but it is sometimes hard to properly prune the #vines. The thought of a big bowl of fresh tomatoes, #basil, #oliveoil and #seasalt sets my mouth a watering. 🤤

Coming to a garden near me! Soon…just a couple more months! Last year’s blooms.

Fun with my flatware. Why not? Cleaned and organized.

Felicity Rainnie – “Kiwi Tree” Original Etching Picked this up today at a thrift today. Spent a bit more than I usually spend at thrifts, but I thought it was a really interesting image. Love etchings. Came with a certificate of authenticity. #felicityrainnie #originaletching #kiwitree
