Zilog Z80 forever! Also other retro computer related stuff; PiDP-8/11, 6502, and a little Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Fan of old HP RPN calculators. Software guy trying to figure out hardware!

My Commodore 64C just got a lot more fun to use πŸ˜ƒ by adding the brilliant Pi1541 Zero cartridge! What an upgrade from the datasette πŸ“Ό #8bit #RetroComputing #c64

Intel's 386 processor (1985) moved the x86 architecture to 32 bits, but it needed to be backward compatible with earlier 16 and 8-bit processors. As a result, it needed complicated circuitry for its internal registers: six different circuits for 30 registers. Let's look at the silicon circuits. 1/N

My C64 just got the best digital video output I could ever dream of. The VIC-II-Dizer and an RGB2HDMI bought from c0pperdragon. This is definitely a 5-star rated solution. Excellent. (unfortunately the photo of the screen doesn't really capture how good the picture is) #c64 #8bit #retrocomputing

I am happy that I managed to revive this HP-41CV which I picked up very cheap because of heavy leakage from the batteries. Thorough cleaning and a new battery/port bay and screw mounts made the difference! Have to mention this HP-41CV is 41 years old πŸ˜ƒ #RetroComputing #vintagecalculators #hp #hp41c

"Fly me to the moon" - the Apollo Guidance Computer was basically build on this resistor-transistor NOR gate, each IC containing 3 or 6 transistors, forming either a single 3-input NOR chip, or a double 3-input NOR chip. #RetroComputing #Apollo #AGC

Got this 1982 HP-10C today in very good condition πŸ˜ƒ I didn't have one in my "Voyager" collection so happy to find such a good one πŸ’Ž #RetroComputing #hp #vintagecalculators

The Spectrum is loaded with some real ROM images πŸ˜ƒ I am happy to find out this is a feature! I am getting more and more impressed by this machine. #RetroComputing #thespectrum #zxspectrum

I recently saw an amazing Navajo rug at the National Gallery of Art. It looks abstract at first, but it is a detailed representation of the Intel Pentium processor. Called "Replica of a Chip", it was created in 1994 by Marilou Schultz, a Navajo/DinΓ© weaver and math teacher. 1/n

Just loaded Zeus assembler on my new speccy. Looks good, hdmi is slightly better than rf modulation πŸ˜‚ I actually used a 12" B/W TV with my 16k ZX Spectrum back in the days #RetroComputing #thespectrum

ALL content deleted from my X account πŸ˜ƒ leaving the profile dormamt for a while, with a reference to bluesky in the bio, before I deactivate the account completely.

First run on The Spectrum πŸ˜ƒ I am impressed by the physical appearance, it is a very accurate replica, including the keyboard! It's a long time since I touched the original ZX Spectrum but this is really good and feels the way I remember. #RetroComputing

It's hard to think of a better way to start the weekend, I am really excited to unbox, setup and relive some very good memories from the '80s with The Spectrum computer. I learned so much about programming from my 16K ZX Spectrum back then. #8bit #RetroComputing #Z80 #ZXSpectrum #TheSpectrum

Here's a favorite of mine πŸ˜ƒ the simple but nevertheless very capable SC114 Z80 system running CP/M. Design and kit by Steve Cousins. #RetroComputing #Z80 #CPM

You are up to date.
