The disappearance of cigarette smoke in UK pubs and restaurants has meant a lot to me (asthma & cancer). Now to reduce vaping !

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

mooch says he is a very simple old fashioned monkey, so his web site does not use anything other than plain vanilla html and css. there's no cookies, wordpress, php, python, java etc etc. so mooch is crossing his fingers that he can stay up.

Damn, I must have got covid again. A graceful collapse is always the best idea at this point.

A sudden 5 percent dip in performance reliability made my knees go shaky and I leaned on the cabin hatch. For twelve seconds it seemed like a good idea to slide all the way down to the deck and just stay there.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

Got a PET today! have lost a lot of weight too quickly, caused by 2 virus illnesses. now have a Patulous Eustachian Tube and can hear myself breathing - loud & weird Had the opposite for a lot of my life (glue ear) which muffles sound (& had over 10 T-tube operations) But this is the opposite 📢👂

Bad #fatigue & #weakness yesterday, just as happened when I got Covid last year, but this time with a flu? Collapsed to the floor, but unlike last time when I needed an ambulance, this time I managed to swing my legs over the top of the stairs which allowed me to sit up. Then a pause to recover #MS

so I managed to get down stairs on my own. Then I could go back up to bed for a sleep. Very short term spike of problems. Last time I ran for a bus after 24 hours, this time I've powered up/down stairs several times. Nasty when it happens but I now know from 2 occurances that it is short. #MS

it was funny in a busy restuarant when the alert sounded on everyones phone it's not mine. it's yours. no it's yours. no the table behind us. it must be the waiter's. 😁😀🤭

Mooch is prepared for the 2026 solar eclipse in two days. Please watch safe everyone and wear protection glasses. Mooch's humans all got to see the August 1999 total solar eclipse. We had a good clear view in Germany, when a slot opened in the clouds just at the right time. #eclipse

"McConnell says he has been discharged from rehab" In the UK that would mean he was being treated for drug or alcohol abuse, but is still under observation. 🤣😜

My granddaughter is growing up ! She just graduated (from nursery) and got her driving licence (from Legoland) We also got a new photo of her which made her look like an 18 year old !

The radical net zero policies have taken a long time to get nowhere, and I'm getting as mad and as hot as hell. 🔥💢 I saw the light in 1976, when I needed to do some experiments that were temperature sensitive and was at work at 0400 in the morning! 1/

This radical global warming, net zero, and climate change rant is brought to you by someone who is no longer happy. So, why is it only the selfish, self-absorbed, egocentric, narcissistic, and egomaniac people who run governments and companies etc. Enough of my hot air ! #climate #ecology #heat

So what major & global calamity is needed to stop the fools? Or will the human race go phut. Then there will be no people left to vote for the stupid (me-me-me) politicians 5/5

What upsets me the most this year is the rising global temperature and its effect on my health. I have bad asthma and also multiple sclerosis. Why are others burning fossil fuels that damage my breathing and also make me heat fatigued? What will it be like soon for my children and their children. /4

At work I had a company car, that usually sat at home while I cycled to work. I have been using trains & busses a lot in the last 25 years and no longer have a car or driving licence. We hardly ever flew abroad. 3/

In the early 1980's I did a university degree that was heavy on technology & ecology. In the late 80s I wanted to learn to fly. But I learnt to fly in gliders as I worried about the fuel usage. The only cars I owned were Minis or baby Fiats. 2/

wanted to go to library then remembered closed thurs. so went to big town library - closed for rebuild. so bought 2 tshirts and had a beer. glad #MS not objecting to heat today, cos round trip is 7 non a/c busses!

Maybr the best chat about the heat I saw today went something like: UK/Europe: it's getting hot, we have to reduce this global warming NOW. US response: just buy some AC (and burn more fossil fuels).

A hot hi on #MSFriday from South London. It's currently 30.3C in my workroom @ 2000. I've just gone out to give the garden birds food & water and they seem happy! The breeze has picked up. 1/

/2 As has happened with really hot weather before, I seem to be able to cope better when the temperature gets above about 27C, and have now got my energy back. 'normal' hot weather knocks me out.

/3 The only bad problem this time is my vision resolution has gone down. I can focus ok but I need enlarged images. I have reduced my Mac screen resolution from 2560x1440 down to 1280x720 so I can read it. I hope it resolves when it gets cooler, like last year.
