Watching the neighborhood blogs blow up at the idea that the Russian plague is the "real" pandemic we need to be scared of and I'm just going to start throwing shoes. Millions of people SHOE died from covid SHOE you back alley SHOE squidsquishers SHOE SHOE SHOE

SHE DID IT AGAIN. Teacher used JKR as a positive example, & I pointed out what that person uses her $ for (harming the trans community) & she started reading the comment out loud & stopped. I pointed out that there are lots of other examples of a successful person that can be used. She ignored it.

If you can, please order some tea and buy gift cards from Friday Afternoon, and if you're local and you can, please go visit the brick and mortar tea shop as well and purchase some tea there!

Company status report, please take time to read. Once again, I've been shouldering all this by myself to a breaking point, but unlike previous times we've been in hot water (lol), we have a clear path to stability with concrete actionable items. So there's that! www.fridaytea.com/blogs/friday...

fridaytea.comSmall Business Survival Under the Fall of the EmpireHello, beautiful teahearts. Let's chat. It's no secret that your fave indies have been going through it these last few years. We've seen a ton of our fellow small businesses do everything right, work ...

Oh Christ, someone in my class just used the current US president as a positive example of a leader. I couldn't stay quiet. They called him responsible. I said "Responsible...? I can't agree" Lordy beans.

A lowlight today: my class curriculum using a photo of khon, a Thai cultural dance photo shoot without knowing what it means or what it is. *sigh*

Win for today: in the effort to do "if it takes 5 minutes or less do it now", I emptied the trash before class. Task initiation is something I struggle with, so I must celebrate the wins! #adhd

I just learned a really useful response to when you don't know what to say when someone tells you of their suffering: “I don’t even know what to say right now, I’m just glad that you told me.”

I highly recommend telling people the lovely, small, everyday ways in which they have impacted you. I’m going to practice more of this myself. It really does enrich the social fabric of the world. ☕️❤️

Listening to FAWNING by Dr. Ingrid Clayton. A thread: Fffff being conscious of problems doesn't automatically solve them. Sucks! (point made by the book) OUCH "helping people heal their wounds as if that would heal my own" More to come.

Honesty wasn't always safe. Self-preservation in the form of lying is a related consequence, and it's something to dismantle in learning not to fawn.

Today I toasted a protein bagel for breakfast put some neufchatel cheese on it, then sprinkled garlic salt, an "Asian" red pepper flakes blend, and partially crystallized honey on top. Highly recommend. Very tasty.

"In cases of childhood trauma, we often can't tolerate the fact that our caregivers are deficient. We instinctively place the blame on ourselves to avoid feeling the terror of being that alone."

Turns out the blueberry and salted caramel were my favorite two flavors, but they were all marvelous.

I have the best sister. She brought me these to try!

Goddamnit, a fraudulent version of The Ordinary's website fooled me just long enough for me to enter my payment information into it. *sigh* I've already deactivated the card and reported it stolen, but it goes to show that even someone who knows to check can forget or not notice something. Be safe!
