Happy 32nd Birthday The First Web Banner! On October 27, 1994, The AT&T Telecommunications Company placed the first web banner in Internet history on the HotWired magazine website. The first web banner in the world was 476×56 px.

Finished Mike Flanagan's Carrie last night. Was excited when originally heard Tahmoh Penikett and Michael Trucco were in it. Squealed when Katee Sackhoff appeared. And then Aaron Douglass and Tricia Helfer?! My little BSG-loving heart was in absolute heaven.

I went to the bookstore and bought more books yesterday, so I'm definitely not allowing myself to go to the big library sale this weekend. Definitely not. Maybe. We'll see.

I grew up on the Bruno & Boots books!

In Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021), Ezra Miller’s character is able to break a plane of glass despite barely touching it. This is because Windows stopped supporting Flash the previous year.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Best comedy group ever?

On this day in 1988, The Kids In The Hall premiered on CBC. During its original five season run, it won eight Geminis and received three Emmy nominations. A film, Brain Candy, was released in 1996 and a sixth season revival premiered in 2022. 📸 David Lachapelle

Okay. So I'm totally digging Mike Flanagan's Carrie for so many reasons. FIRST is of course it's omg I love Matthew Lillard and Tahmoh Penikett. SECOND is the fact that this is one of my favorite Stephen King stories.

A surprising new study finds that people who sleep near their dogs don’t experience disrupted sleep. If anything, the University of Toronto researchers discovered, we humans are the ones disturbing our dogs’ sleep.

The Hockey Sweater is one of the most famous books in Canadian history. The story of a boy who received the wrong hockey sweater from Eaton's has been featured on our currency, gone to space, and been turned into an iconic NFB short. This is the story. 🧵 1/12

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."

I feel seen. Me: OMG they got a BigYellowBag of Dirt!! Jealous!
