Having an "I woke up too early after taking NyQuil last night" existential crisis.

Haven't tried Astra and I probably won't. I'm really enjoying the Chinese AI models Qwen & GLM, and keep getting better at learning their quirks.

When you have to give your agents a pep talk

Anybody else's AI agents/coding tools failing and timing out last night? Was happening across multiple platforms...sus 🧐

Me, one year ago: "AI can code, but it can't weigh tradeoffs or design real systems. We're fine." Me, today: "shit."

I don't run Ubuntu on the desktop but had to install 26.04 on a VM just to check it out. So far so good 👏 I'll be putting this on my servers after giving it a few weeks to air out. Lets be real, I wouldn't run anything else on a server besides Ubuntu 🙂 Happy Friday!

Nothing worth doing is easy

I was fired from Anthropic today, my 3rd software engineering job. On the Claude Code team, I was responsible for maps. While pushing an update, I accidentally leaked the entire codebase, despite Claude indicating there were no issues. Heading over to LinkedIn to look for engineering roles. 🫡

While I'm here.. Let me take moment to rank ALL of the AI coding agents. 1. OpenCode 2. Claude Code 3. Codex

This isn't real life..🧐

I just installed the Kilo Code extension in VS Code. I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m doing it faster now. Wish me luck 🙂

This week wasn’t perfect, but progress showed up in small ways. Some things finally moving, and a couple things still very much not. Ending the week I'm reminded that consistency beats intensity, and showing up beats overthinking. Hope you’re able to do the same. Cheers 🥂
