About 500 children from QUIMS schools visited Children's University of Zurich last Friday. And I'm still utterly delighted. Eyes lighting up when a trick lands, hands shooting straight up: curiosity and joy in learning live in every child, no matter where they come from.

Heartfelt thanks again to everyone in the science community who shared ideas for sensory illusions that work without sight. I used the Shepard tone and the numbness illusion. Sadly, there wasn't time left for the lovely "floating arms" trick.

Hey Science Community: I'd love to tap your collective knowledge. For a talk at the Children's University of Zurich (ages ~10-12), I will make the brain's workings tangible through sensory illusions; they show beautifully that the brain doesn't simply mirror the world, but actively constructs it.

Challenge I: One child attending is visually impaired. Yet, nearly all my planned illusions are visual. I am looking for scalable illusions that work without sight, e.g., hearing, touch, or body awareness. Challenge II: Must work for 500 children in a lecture hall. Ideas welcome, with sources. 🙏

Key findings: Insight orientation and crafting are linked to higher well-being and lower stress, depression, and anxiety. Insight orientation is the central mechanism behind mental health benefits. The intervention group saw greater improvements in mental health literacy and insight orientation.
