Another great video from Headquake! This is a different kind of model hobby: off-road RC. Headquake has their own park trail loop, and they scratch build their own models, mostly using wood. Nice calming video. youtube.com/watch?v=uKMZ...
Such a cool pic I had to share this Monday morning (by Marc-Eric Minard). Four Fouga Zéphyr aboard R99 Foch in November 1993. Perhaps four aviators were later going to have their first catapult launch! flic.kr/p/2sJekU6

And a booty has been brought home as well -- and look, no kits! 😁 Forgot to get Flory's washes though aargh! I did however get Italian Colle21 CA glues which have an almost mythical status in some circles, keen to try them out!
Visited Scale Model Challenge '26 today, near Eindhoven Neth. What a big event, great turnout, nice atmosphere too. Below are some things that caught my eye. (Missed the competition hall I'm afraid!)
Just hit me today @mrasoft.bsky.social -- you were and are completely right and I was completely wrong on the availability in the EU of Tamiya putty. Back then I apparently asked the wrong sellers. And it was still in stock. Not anymore!
Tamiya Putty is hard to get in the EU because of EU-regulations and rumours go that something might happen to liquid decal film as well? 🤫 (liquid decal film still seems to be available in my local web shops)

There ya go. A 1/72 scratchbuilt ladder for the C-160 loading ramp. #revelltransall
Always nice when research throws up unexpected surprises for the to do list. Not. Practically done, I only just discovered that standard Transalls had a ladder mounted on the loading ramp. So now to make a ladder. Sure Transall, just add more jobs, why not.

I wrote something just in case someone is having problems with vertigo and nothing works; it just might be vestibular migraine. I'm a total noob and eejit when it comes to things medical so I might be wrong on every count. Just sharing an experience. mountaingoatjay.wordpress.com/2026/10/06/a...
Had a massive vestibular migraine attack day before yesterday, only just recovering. I should do a write up on the symptoms one day, for the greater good so to speak, as I keep meeting people who experience similar symptoms but got wrong diagnosis, as I initially had. (Not! a headache by the way).

I watched The Legacy (1978) as a circa six year old together with my sisters. A B-movie if there ever was one, but still filled with -what on paper should be- terrifying moments. But I remember just enjoying everything..? Also, why were we watching a bad old horror movie together? I don't know.
In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

Airbrush? Where we're going, we don't need an airbrush. #revelltransall
Every new bit of info on the FlyDubai incident makes it more incredible, especially the recovery from that overspeed dive, w/ parts of cockpit panels having been smashed in and possibly the engines cut off as well & the 737 holding up perfectly despite all the Gs. One for the aviation history books!
A jewel of a Derek Guy thread.
Neiman Marcus closed its downtown Dallas flagship on Wednesday. The store played a notable role in the history of desegregation in Dallas. Previously, Black shoppers across the US could enter department stores, but they weren't allowed to try on clothes without adhering to certain conditions. 🧵
The sdasm archive has posted this image of a model of Boeing's projected but never completed 757-100 variant (on the right, left is a -200), which is interesting because there are not many artists' impressions of this shortened version. flic.kr/p/2sDKcjB

Facebook really doesn't want you to see the new documentary exposing Elon Musk Neither do TikTok or Google or the eX social media site. Since they won't accept paid advertising, let's do some free advertising. Go see Musk in theaters October 9 www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/dig...

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.
Some Transall parts that still needed finishing were the RR Tyne exhausts and the crew entry ladders. See alt for more. #revelltransall
Last steps (though many itsy bits to go) in the Revell 1/72 Transall C-160 builds. Masking tape has been removed, not without leaving quite a bit of residue to still be removed. Wheels have been attached and the C-160s are now quite happy to stand on their own feet. #RevellTransall #histscalemodels
