Russia is now exempt from the Lindsey O. Graham Russia Sanctions Act. The US government is clearly allied with Putin against Ukraine. Vote Republican enablers out.

Seems apropos 37 years later: "O' beautiful, for spacious skies Now those skies are threatening They're beating plowshares into swords For this tired old man that we elected king" -- Bruce Hornsby and Don Henley (1989)

Please don't overreact to Roberts Court decision on the contemplated USPS ballot moves They simply held that the injunction came too early in the process, before there was a final rule👇 Now we HAVE a final rule & we will litigate it. I'm as confident in our arguments here as in any of our cases!

Hamilton was right for his day, but wrong for today. 18th-century protectionism will not foster economic prosperity for anyone, any more than a return to steam-catapult aircraft carriers and 16-inch-gun battleships will prepare us for the battles of today or tomorrow. 🙃

@redirect.bsky.app Price increases are not incidental to tariffs. They are the goal, to encourage purchase of more expensive domestic options. When no domestic alternative exists (often the case), consumers pay more for the same imported products, as importers attempt to recoup tariff costs.

govfacts.orgWhat Are Tariffs and How Do They Work?A tariff is a tax that governments place on goods coming into their country. You might also hear them called duties or customs duties—trade experts use these terms interchangeably. While most tariffs ...

Just a thought: Maybe the collective freak-out about El-Sayed and the punditry that he is going to lose because he's too progressive, based on one single poll of the race, was a bit premature ?? www.gelliottmorris.com/p/2026-08-18...

gelliottmorris.comIs Abdul El-Sayed going to lose Michigan? The Democratic nominee is running behind expectations, and everyone thinks they know why. But it's early — and I think we all know a lot less than we think.

Just one poll but "Despite public media reports that El-Sayed is facing a divided Democratic electorate after a bruising and closely contested August 4th primary, he leads Rogers 91%-0% with self-identified Democrats and leads Rogers 46%-24% with Independents and unaffiliated voters."

"The great majority... when they fall a prey to ambition for either military or civil authority, are carried away by it so completely that they quite lose sight of the claims of justice." -- Cicero, On Duties (44 BC)

Scott Bessent is a kook. His economic nationalist policies are regurgitations of Hamiltonian protectionism that worked in late 18th century environment of incubation for fledgling American manufacturing but make no sense today except to ideologues and fanatics fixated on pet ideas.

fortune.comScott Bessent just declared the K-shaped economy is over, saying he’s ‘sick of hearing about’ it—but the data would beg to disagree | Fortune“I can say here definitively, the K-shaped economy is over.”

We must bend reality to comply with Dear Leader's delusions and self-serving lies. 🤡💩 This is the regime of cowards and clowns. History does not portend a good ending for them.

Trump sues (and urges the DOJ to prosecute) so dolts think he must have something--he must be serious. They never take notes of the dismissals, withdrawals, and judicial slap downs on nearly all of his litigation theater. Ask them to explain the disposition or current status of each case...

MAGA cheers a new civil lawsuit or investigation/prosecution but fails to follow the cases through to their predictable ends. This is why Trump does it. It's all about the passing headline. He knows his dimwitted fans will use the case as evidence in their arguments for months after it is dead.

Mike Waltz regularly says the stupid part out loud. He did not think through his reflexive deflection to Biden. Also, declaring that the leakers should be fired while simultaneously denying the substance of the leak is a logical contradiction.
