Thank. You. Would love for AI to make my life easier. But many ‘simple’ use cases, it takes me less time to just do the thing vs asking AI and then fixing it.

The Empty Mary Gillis@marygillis.bsky.social

Every. Single. Story. about women not using AI as much as men portray it as bad for their future career prospects (without a shred of evidence) and a result of women being fearful little ladies rather than looking at AI's output and saying "this sucks, it's not going to help me."

SCOTUS is allowing Trump to fire (at least for now) the three Democrat-appointed members of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The CPSC regulates safety of everyday consumer products. Guess who recently sued the agency and claimed that it's unconstitutional? Amazon.

I get this counts as news, but like…yeah. We know. Hugs to the infosec professionals supporting SecDef.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Exclusive: The Pentagon’s independent watchdog has received evidence that messages from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s Signal account previewing a U.S. bombing campaign in Yemen derived from a classified email labeled “SECRET/NOFORN.”

Everyone’s discussing the $3k, but can we talk about how our DHS head doesn’t know basic purse-related security strategies like…NEVER LEAVING YOUR BAG ON THE FLOOR OF A FUCKING RESTAURANT.

Hit ‘em hard, Harvard! (Literally, where possible, even.)

Eric Deggans@edeggans.bsky.social

Just when it looked like Ivy League colleges were going to knuckle down to pressure from the Trump administration, Harvard rejects a proposed deal, saying it went beyond fighting antisemitism to "unprecedented demands...to control the Harvard community." loom.ly/MAp3GuA

Living in a Groundhog Day post-storm of discovering every day after ordering/replacing network device that next device also needs to be replaced. Power is fine, ports are not. Make it make sense. (Thankful actual end devices are fine.)

We might be in better shape if he’d just stick to golfing… golf🏌️‍♂️

Mallory McMorrow@mallorymcmorrow.bsky.social

The market is crashing, prices are soaring, and Donald Trump is golfing. You deserve a lot better than this. And it will be on us to build something new.

I mean it’s not if the folks using it can accidentally add reporters on it and not notice…not all security is encryption.

Mark Chadbourn@chadbourn.bsky.social

US Attorney General Pam Bondi tells Fox News: "I think Signal is a very safe way to communicate. I don't think foreign adversaries are able to hack Signal, as far as I know." Astonishingly dumb thing to say.

Know it’s not the point of the question but Oh man, what a great opportunity to flood them with AI slop articles… (At some point I’ll come up with an idea for how use AI that isn’t specifically for civil disobedience…)

Chris Hayes@chrislhayes.bsky.social

If Trump issued an Executive Order requiring all newspapers to send articles to the WH for review before publication, would newspapers report it is a “requirement” or “mandate”? Or would the fact it’s preposterously illegal and unconstitutional make right into the lede and headline?

Contrary to what Trump wants us to believe—everything is NOT fine‼️ Retired General Anderson: “There are lives at risk right now because of what was in that strand… the Houthis know that we have somebody on the ground...” Take 2 minutes…

Oh that is some fucking bullshit that the DNI, a Lt.Col. in the fucking Army reserves hasn’t taken CUI training. Which makes me wonder, could she be reprimanded by the Army separately? Wikipedia says she’s still active.

Even Veep couldn’t predict this level of incompetence.

Mark Hertling@markhertling.bsky.social

Arrogant. Amateurish. Lacking in situational awareness. A huge security breach that opens operations to foreign actors and puts our military at risk. A staggering story. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Once again, just like with Musk and Twitter, these fucking idiots don't understand what was already happening, rip it down, and then try to rebuild the same thing, but way dumber, because they can't understand nuance and complexity.

Mark Leon Goldberg@markleongoldberg.bsky.social

This is LITERALLY what USAID does!!!

Love a little civil disobedience 👏🏻👏🏻 Well played.

Marisa Kabas@marisakabas.bsky.social

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source. Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

I realized that while twitter is a shit show, it came with a buffer of garbage, poorly targeted ads, and random crap in between content for recovery between posts. Whereas here it’s just a string of factual information that’s upsetting to me. No breaks! Feels like it’s time for a digital detox.

the frenzy over the hunter biden pardon is a good reminder that the press knows how to make something a scandal and has decided that nothing trump does is truly deserving of that treatment

I just need everyone to know the future Transportation secretary’s wife totally made out with Puck. Ew.

Yashar Ali 🐘@yasharali.bsky.social

BREAKING President-elect Trump says he intends on nominating Sean Duffy as Secretary of Transportation. Duffy served five terms in congress and is now, among other things, a Fox News contributor. Gen X/elder millennials will recognize Duffy and his wife Rachel from the Real World.

You are up to date.
