Losing Eric Bauza so young is an unbelievable tragedy. Up there with Mel Blanc, Joe Alaskey and Jeff Bergman as one of the best Looney Tunes voice actors, able to perfectly embody each character. And he never gave up the fight for "Coyote vs Acme." RIP.

So let me get this straight. The candidates in the Brazilian election are someone with a bunch of corruption scandals whose friends with Putin and the Iranian regime and someone who wants to bring back his father's far-right policies and pardon the participants of a coup? Oof.

Thread. The most annoying trend to come about these last few years is falsely accusing a production of using Gen-AI without any actual proof. It's such an insult to the animators who are fighting against the plagiarism machine.

Personal subjective tastes aside, you can hate a company and its practices all you want but don’t take your ire out on the crews of things you may not like. They’re not lazy or phoning it in, they work hard and try to enjoy what they do, regardless of whether or not you think a project is “bad”

#Wildwood uses the familiar fantasy story template to launch us into this world, which it does an impressive job of building and giving proper time to its many characters. But the high point is an extraordinary battle sequence, one of many great set-pieces.

What a remarkable opening weekend for a three hour documentary playing in less than 1000 theatres, which nobody even knew existed a month and a half ago. Excited to see how high this movie goes.

I think it's odd there are people who think Greta Gerwig will remove Narnia's religious themes. She set her semi-autobiographical film in a Catholic school and has talked about how her time there shaped her storytelling. "Barbie" is even an Adam and Eve story.

Casting director: So, Night, who are you thinking for the role of the writer whose work will change the world? Shyamalan: Well, there's this guy I know who would be perfect. Casting director: You're casting yourself, aren't you? Shyamalan: Yep! letterboxd.com/mrcoat/film/...

Just want to take a moment to thank Guillermo del Toro, Gore Verbinski, Wes Anderson, Kane Parsons, Seth Rogen, Travis Knight and Tim Burton for vocally rejecting AI and not hoping on board that train. Contrary to what other filmmakers have said recently, it's not that hard.

I rank "The Magician's Nephew" as easily the second best Narnia book (behind "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe") and from the looks of things so far, this adaptation seems on point. Looking forward to Greta Gerwig putting her take on it.

Watch the first trailer for Greta Gerwig's #Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, in theaters February 12.

David Fincher came very close to directing "Lords of Dogtown", even though you wouldn't expect him to make a movie about skateboarding. Maybe it would have been like "The Social Network", but with skateboards instead of coding. letterboxd.com/mrcoat/film/...

letterboxd.comA ★½ review of Lords of Dogtown (2005)It's interesting that the screenplay was written by one of the subjects of "Lords of Dogtown." I assume we're meant to like him and his skateboarding friends, but I instead found them completely obnox...

Reflecting on the past three years, I wonder how different things would have gone if instead of the yelling, shunning, name-calling and treating a geopolitical issue like a sports match, people had preached co-existence.

It's clear that Israelis and Palestinians are both indigenous to the region and aren't going anywhere. What they desperately need are new leaders who will work together to live side-by-side in peace and put an end to the cycle of violence and bloodshed.

In the meantime, there are organisations on the ground like Standing Together, Peace Now, Mothers' Call and the Parents Circle-Families Forum who are doing the work to try and make a two-state solution a reality and a better future for Israelis and Palestinians.

It is, in fact, possible (and encouraged) to criticise a government's actions without painting an entire population under the same brush. I have zero interest in hating someone, simply because of where they were born or where their parents came from.
