we have an open position for a post-doc (100%) or PhD student (75%) at Bielefeld University - starting 1.11 or later (there is room for flexibility). jobs.uni-bielefeld.de/job/view/503...
I have decided to move most of my professional social media communication to LinkedIn. I simply don't like the idea of character restrictions that are bypassed anyway by threads at the cost of a clear structure. If you want to keep in touch, connect with me here: www.linkedin.com/in/mreutter/

Exciting news! Our latest paper is now published 🎉 We dive into the fear generalization literature to see how individual fear gen profiles are typically quantified, extracted the most commonly used measures, and compared them using simulated and empirical data: doi.org/10.1016/j.bp...

Participants acquired fear quickly and generalized it to morphs of faces (osf.io/wgqnj/wiki/h...) in a curved fashion✅. Highly anxious individuals showed overall higher subjective threat ratings✅ but no difference in generalization patterns compared to lowly anxious ones❌.
Great talk by @fmriguy.bsky.social about health-related chances and pitfalls of social media 🤩👏. I would love your opinion on doi.org/10.1016/j.ch..., which uses temporal networks to offer a glimpse into the causal structure of well-being and social media use. Really convincing design in my opinion🧐
Just stumbled across this. What would you conclude from this correlational structure? Spoiler: In the peer-reviewed and published paper, there is no discussion on how to draw a valid causal inference from these observational data 🙈 Source: doi.org/10.7759/cure... (Figure 1 "B")
