I just found that there's a graphic novel/tpb where Jay Gatsby is angry that his Long Island party was interrupted by Godzilla, and will stop at nothing to take him out. Finally, something that will make that novel palatable, to me.

@gailsimone.bsky.social I don't know where I've been, but two days ago, I heard that there's a graphic novel that has Jay Gatsby pissed off because Godzilla interrupted his lavish estate party, and now that's all Daisy can think about. And I'm all for anything that can make that novel readable!

Here's a post on Facebook. I don't know if we can blame AI for this or not, but Eric Bauza did not cancel his appearance at a con because of a professional commitment. He died yesterday.

Every election cycle, I have to ask this question: Who are the people who do the voiceover work in some campaign commercials? Do they actually believe the garbage that has been written for them to say? Because there's this one woman, and I just can't believe some of the things they make her say

You know, now that I think about it, the last time I was in Facebook jail, was when Linda McMahon was touring several Michigan schools, and I told some folks that the kids should make her feel at home by hitting her with a bunch of folding chairs

Just got put in Facebook jail for a post to Ted Nugent, who's been bad-mouthing my awesome Senate candidate, Abdul El-Sayed. Told Ted Nugent that he's no pundit and he should stick to harassing underage girls and shitting himself But it said shooting himself, instead Thanks, autocorrect No notes

Look, it's not that I don't want to see the Nazi Batman Caligula documentary -- although I can think of things I'd rather do with 4 hours -- but I guess I just don't know what the point is Bob Woodward keeps telling us what a sociopath Trump is, and now this documentary on Musk It changes nothing

I want to know what a $15 million animatronic bird does? I hope it's not like that robot I wanted for Christmas in 1982, that I had envisioned would do so many things from me, and then when I got it, realized it could only go within a 5-ft square... Because that was disappointing.

Was watching an episode of Love Boat where to go to Japan, and I'm riddled with questions. But my first question is, if you hate the Japanese because your father was in World War II, and is in a wheelchair now, and you're sad because he can't walk, why the hell are you on a cruise to Japan, at all?

Yesterday, I saw a post on here asking what Italian deserves an American holiday more than that Euro trash Christopher Columbus. I'm torn between Chef Boyardee and that guy who played the Native American who cried at the trash on the highway

I've said it before, and I'll have to say it again: Having stand-ups as hosts of Saturday Night Live, it's never a good idea... No matter who they are, there's going to be horrible jokes about showering with babies, molesting people, and sexual assault Awful, all the time

Years ago, I was at a Halloween party, with my then fiancée... Something about this party felt, off, to me. Just the vibe was wrong. Even the candy they gave us, at least one in the bag, was a brand I never heard of. "What the hell is spunow?," I asked "Your Mounds is upside down!," she laughed

Look, I'm just a guy who got a degree in journalism -- which took me 5 years to get -- in an early '90s world, full of card catalogs, and real research, and turning in rough drafts... I don't pretend to understand AI, nor how long it takes to train a voice model But I do know that this is pathetic

So, a sitting US President can tell Iran to take out two American cities that he doesn't like, but shells on a beach arranged into 8647 is a death threat? cool, cool

Today I learned that when @gailsimone.bsky.social was talking, yesterday, about having her rizz stolen, she was not, in fact, talking about a battery snack cracker, as I had previously thought I regret the confusion this brought me, and the sheer amount of time I spent thinking about it.

What's the deal with selling action figures that have different heads and faces with different moods included? We didn't have this. When Chewbacca or Skeletor were pissed off, that was on us... We had to emote, dammit! Don't kids even know how to play, anymore??

Oh, how you fooled me with those giggles, winks, and nudges The love that you gave me was a duplicate with smudges 'Cause you put a piece of carbon paper under your heart And gave me just a copy of your love

So I just read that Hawkeye was intended to be 28 years old at the onset of MASH, and whether it's Alan Alda or Donald Sutherland, either way you slice it, it's given me quite the existential crisis

Safe space stuff: my whole life, I haven't understood the appeal of the Confederacy of Dunces... everyone points to it as being the funniest novel ever written. It won the Pulitzer Prize. What am I missing? Do people only pretend to like it because the guy died?

Okay, I get that e-readers are a thing, and given that Amazon left my favorite Kindle--it has a keyboard--for dead, recently (at least, they think they did, ha!) I do understand the inclination to stick it to them and look for alternatives, but why are e-readers going so tiny all of a sudden?!?

Serious question: why are the people who insist on pointing out that @abdulelsayed.bsky.social is a "paper doctor" the same ones who are so anti-education that they twice elected a man whose Dad paid someone to take his SATs, and have also been anti-vaccine and medical advice for 5 years?

One of the joys of being a fan and follower of @gailsimone.bsky.social is the joy she has in spreading the word about comics she has no involvement with, other than loving them, like we all do. And, she was right: The Muppets take over the Marvel Universe is just a fantastic book, in every way!

Look, I hate spoilers, and I don't want to be a spoiler guy... But how dare you, Netflix... How fucking dare you give Dwayne and Whitley marital problems?!?

I know a guy whose wife filed for divorce and then like a month later, they reconciled. But every time I want to speak to her, he makes some excuse as to why she's not home... The latest one was that she's at a magic show, with her mom. A magic show? In 2026 In Metro Detroit

In human cartoon news, I was going into the office -- the back bedroom of my condo -- and my chair got caught on my broom (Think about when a cartoon character steps on a rake) The broomstick hits me in the head and I fall outta my chair That is all.

This may be the most serious post I've ever made here, so please believe me when I tell you that I've recovered from injuries in nursing homes, with patients who are the same level of "alive" as Mitch McConnell.

Hey, remember that Sarah McLachlan, arms of the angel commercial for Abused cats and dogs? The ASPCA is trying to get a piece of that with a piano version of Nothing Compares 2 U I don't think it works. For one thing, I don't think they go out every night and sleep all day.

My birthday is coming up on Sunday, so I renewed my ID here in Michigan. It was always enhanced, but now, this is my first renewal since the real ID mandate. It has a little star in the corner. In today's climate, I can't help but be reminded of another star used as identification, to a fascist.

The Bots are out, again. Unless there are an inordinate amount of women, out here, named Irina, who are either into crypto, or are options Traders, who immediately want to push me to use whatever telegram is... Do these scammers really think I'm lonely or horny enough not to read or see patterns?

Seriously, these Bots expect me to go all corny as Kansas in August just because I have "a uniquely positive perspective that clearly comes with [my] age"? Sure, we're in love now. Let me take out a bank loan to give you the $100,000 someone being in love with a picture of a cartoon bear, deserves.

Oh, sure... people are making fun of Trump's new hair, right now... But no one will be laughing, when he goes full-on Chris Gaines, and "John Barron" runs for president in 2028.

I just read an article on CBR or Ain't It Cool News, or something, that Paramount was just pitched a new Star Trek movie modeled after Training Day or Crimson Tide with a power struggle or a mutiny. So, Doomsday Machine, a movie based on the episode, Doomsday Machine... that's what it is.

Hey everybody, just a reminder that most of the time, the only art in one of Trump's deals, is when he paints himself into a corner, and pretends that's the result he intended the whole time.
