trying to figure out how I can verify adults read a book in case I decide to launch a new all ages version of the pizza for reading program we had as kids so we start reading again.

that feeling when you're rewatching a show with someone that hasn't seen it and every other scene you're fighting to hold back tears because you know what happens to a character at the end and don't wanna spoil

just finished a playthrough of the saboteur, it's a pretty good game considering its age. unfortunately a lot of it's mechanics have kinda been overplayed in modern games, but another game with a similar setting but red faction guerilla mechanics would be cool.

had to wait in a room for an hour, but none of the chairs were wide enough for me to actually sit in. I spent the entire hour basically doing a wall sit on the edge of a chair. my quads are killing me. people that furnish public buildings: please always have at least a few chairs with no armrests.

some meal prepping, trying to start saving more money so am trying to make my meals in bulk. Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes for me and buttered noodles for my nesting partner

This whole topic has me remembering a horrible thought experiment I had to do in high school. It's where my mind goes whenever the "No Matter Who" argument gets brought up, because my actions in the moment still frighten me. 🧵

The "politics is like the bus" analogy breaks down if all available buses are headed to the same city block, miles from where we need to be, & suspiciously close to a rendering plant. Your tired & poor scapegoats don't owe you grace. Voting for a lesser evil is still a vote for evil.

fucking wild everytime I get campaign spam mail on my porch saying people like me are causing the downfall society and such and such candidate wants to put an end to it. like damn, thanks for letting me know who not to vote for I guess?

so a while ago I mentioned one of my cards was unusable because every single one of my purchases was being marked as fraud. so good news, I'm actually able to use it now, bad news, I still get like 3 "suspicious activity" alerts every time I use it.

I hate the category of video where it's titled something like "best game no one has ever played!" or "greatest show you've never seen!" and then it's something that was actually super popular like 20 years ago, but the fandom just didn't stay consistent.

titles like that should be exclusive for media that only ever aired once at like 3am or ever had a single printing and got thrown out because it rotted on the shelves and the only way to get it back in the day was sketchy bootlegs. at the very least it shouldn't have ever been on a top 50 list

I know a lot of it is just because I'm older now, but I do also feel like we've just in general started making less of an event of Halloween. I think a lot of it is that without cable we no longer have spooky month bumpers and specials. what are some of your nostalgic Halloween watches?

I remember when the smart design philosophy was to make functionality take as few clicks as possible. these days it seems companies are doing the opposite. they're in a race to cram as many extra screens as possible between your current page and the place you want to go.

why do major tortilla brands like hide the size of the tortilla on the package. it's always the smallest word tucked into the corner. it's fine where you're shopping in person, but when shopping online the packaging all looks the same and you never know which one is which without being a detective

got a high score on stranger things pinball at the local arcade. it's not an amazing score, more people need to play here. blocked out initials for privacy, just gotta trust it's me lol

just getting around to watching the clone high 2023 reboot and it's kinda making me miss the days where I was watching radio free rosco, south of nowhere, and degrassi as they were coming out.

what's the point of giving different people in the same group order different deals door dash? if the person paying for the order doesn't have the same deals it just leads to confusion.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since Pearl, and haven't really watched the anime since johto, yet for some reason my algorithms are like 80% Pokemon videos at the moment. I'm not really complaining, just really weird thing to be a random spike. maybe it's because of everyone playing batomon.
