As someone who was in an abusive relationship this issue is important to me, but the Torah study discussion today was triggering. I consider myself an intelligent person. That I got caught up in this situation despite MANY red flags. That it took me several times to finally leave for good.

I have feelings of anger with myself. I walked away from activities I once enjoyed. I lost meaningful relationships with people I cared about. Some were mended, others won’t ever be the same. All I can do is learn from it, be thankful that it wasn’t worse & try not to be as hard on myself about it.

I have a sinking feeling that we’re going to see a lot more of these kinds of stories in the next few days, and this is how our elections will get gummed up.
