John Carpenter's Michael Subjack 🎃☠️🔪🏚️🧟

A little over a year ago, I met a woman and felt an instant connection. Seven months later, she was berating me in the most bizarre and traumatic public meltdown I've ever witnessed. Here's the whole story: msubjack.substack.com/p/the-only-g...

Repost of my HWA essay: horror.org/halloween-ha...

Gave Stacy Keach the James Earl Jones look in Conan the Barbarian. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

Deborah Harry rocking Angela's Halloween costume. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

The hell of it was, when he combed it back, it looked fine. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

Taking a page from Stephen Miller and Rudy Giuliani, I see. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

Greg Nicotero cameo. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

And Stacy Keach is really funny in this. I think he exclusively played hard asses before this. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

This one takes a turn. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

Sure, he seems handsome and charming now, but when that full moon hits... #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

I bet you cynical bastards thought Ted would be the Raimi brother playing a corpse! #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

Chekhov's oil spill. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

Peter Jason, you silly lush! #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

Robert Carradine was an underrated actor. Dude was insanely versatile. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

I wish this had become a weekly series. This segment alone has a murderer's row of genre stalwarts. #thelastdrivein @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social

"Hi, Sam."

Mrs. Voorhees learned that choosing the bear is actually quite useful!

It would be funny if this Ralph wasn't Crazy Ralph from the first two films, but just some guy who also happened to be named Ralph.

Me at Crystal Lake with young Jason: "Dude, your mom's hot!"

Watching Crystal Lake. You mean this adorable little boy will grow up to be one of the most notorious serial killers in history? I don't buy it! And I demand logic and realism when it comes to the Friday the 13th franchise!

"But only if you agree with you!" is giving this energy:

Ah, yes, one of the writers of the famously apolitical song, One.

New essay for the Horror Writers Association. I recall the glory days of WPIX and Shocktober. If you liked watching horror movies as a kid (and who didn't?), then check it out! horror.org/halloween-ha...

Really enjoying the new Carrie. And that moment after the nose incident ("Plug it up!")?

Jack Donaghy: "Exciting news, Lemon. Tomorrow marks the release of the Obsession spinoff, available exclusively through Kabletown's new headsets and VR glasses!" Liz Lemon: "Ugh, Jack, this thing feels like it's trying to penetrate my brain!" (Brief pause) Jack: "Definitely your imagination."

My story, Melon Head, is set to appear in this upcoming anthology from Rogue River Red. It's a gruesome story, so brace yourselves!

I feel like it took way too long for everyone to realize that Pete Davidson is a complete choad.

New story. This has more of a Twilight Zone vibe, but fear not (or fear), I have two more pieces getting published this month that should scratch any horror itch you might have. For now, enjoy this. msubjack.substack.com/p/fools-gold...

Gathered with friends last night to watch my first episode of GBBO. I enjoyed it, but my kingdom to see Noel Fielding host an episode as Old Gregg.

Making the number of Spinal Tap drummers look modest by comparison.

Is that Rick Caruso's yacht I spy?

I just saw the first episode of the MST3K RiffTrax Experiments and they didn't miss a beat. In an otherwise shit year, we have this wonderful little slice of magic. I hope the subsequent episodes have more segments, though.

AI. He's not holding a phone.

You know, Peacock, if you're going to keep raising your prices, I'm going to have to insist you refer to yourself as The Cock in advertising. "Coming November 3rd on The Cock..."

New story. Men be creeping. msubjack.substack.com/p/if-at-firs...

The star of Alligator II: The Mutation?!

Tim Curry and Dolly Parton. Even by this timeline's standards, that's cruel.

I love Ted Lasso, but that theme song...
