Everyone who watched J6 unfold knew they were watching a shameful attack orchestrated by a President of the United States against our government. There are just some who have since found it convenient or lucrative to forget that they knew.

I don't recall any previous transformative technologies that had to be sold to the public so hard. No one in 1999 was going, "Guys. Cell phone? It's coming, whether we like it or not. I think it's important, FOR WOMEN ESPECIALLY, to learn about cell phone. So that we're not left behind!!"

This sums up nicely why (almost) everything sucks these days.

When you have an audience or a business you have to ensure that you always provide a lot more value to people than you extract from them. If you don't then, long term, it all breaks down. Young people I talk to today...they feel like the whole entire world has broken this contract with them.

I would argue that the case for dismantling ICE has, at this point, virtually nothing to do with larger questions of immigration enforcement and reform, it's just clearly incompatible with a free and democratic society to maintain a secret police force with sweeping and arbitrary authority.

Senator Gallego weighs in as well. Note that at the start of 2025 he was considered a *moderate* on immigration and co-sponsored the Laken Riley Act. Him and many other Dems have been increasingly horrified at what ICE is doing and shifted away from a "more enforcement" focus.

I've played both. They both offer frankly unprecedented replay value in an adventure game landscape that seems content to tell a singular linear story and call it a day. The complexity of these games is unreal. Also, Francisco is a nice guy who can bench press me (and has).

The message from the White House this morning is that, once again, it falls on ordinary American citizens to remain calm and professional when dealing with the heavily armed agents of the government because they are very emotional and might fly off into a murderous rage at the slightest insult.

Yup. I have a hard time seeing the fact that Bluesky does not compensate people for being combative assholes to generate "engagement" as a downside.

JimmyO@jimokenfuss.bsky.social

Agreed. I find a lot of the criticism of BlueSky comes from the inability of a small group of people to monetize it.

SO happy with Old Skies’s success so far, but early momentum is very important, so leave a review on Steam if you can. The higher that review count goes, the more people see the game. Sorry to e-beg but in the absence of a marketing budget this is all I got! store.steampowered.com/app/1346360/...

Hey folks, I've found a copy of the game Rosewater in my inbox, and I am going to be declining this. Here's why... I intended to buy it, and that's what I'm going to do. I want the developer to have my money, especially because of that No AI seal that's proudly displayed on the game's Steam page.👍

one thing i’m stuck on is this idea that “masculine” energy means license to act like a chud in public, as opposed to more traditional notions of public masculinity, such as those that put a premium on the performance of integrity, honesty, honor and generosity.

Spending a month on Bluesky has created a whole new model of a fight we need to be having right now. Not liberal vs. conservative or whatever, but respect vs manipulation. I am tired of being manipulated everywhere I go. That’s why I like it here, I feel like I’m in charge for once.

You are up to date.
