π All the normies starting to see the benefits, and it took Ads and AI bloat to do it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6pcTK0wTYA
Cove got thin client support today, built in, with an agent and everything. Some bugs still to work out though. For what I needed it for (a mini PC on my workbench) it works great. https://github.com/muddyland/cove
I never use my Fable 5.1 limit, so I put it to good use... adguard-admin (my fleet manager for #adguardhome servers) now comes with an agent for updates, and not 1, but 2 load balancing solutions. Keepalived is what I was looking for, and it works great so far with a VIP balancing my 3 LAN [β¦]
This is what happens, when there is no accountability. Corruption is corruption. Call it out when you see it. This dude totally thought he was smart, and above the law. And unfortunately police often get special treatment... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnUtHYnRc9M
I know all of these examples are real, but one major issue, at least here in Massachusetts, is texting and driving... I spend more time behind cars that slow way down going up hill, cause a jam, then speed down hill. We also have a probelm with people tailgating and getting too close, causing [β¦]
Ok, so I have to comment on the #php2shell vulnerabilities. I started my web application career with PHP. It was rock solid, and never let me down. I have no issues with it, I like it, but it is not the best option anymore. It is time to talk seriously about other alternatives out there... I [β¦]
I prefer Python personally, it has been great for me, and I have built some great tools with it. I plan to continue to use specifically FastAPI, Flask and Django (they all have their uses) But I am coming around to Rust. It aims to solve the biggest security issues but still comes with a bit [β¦]
Imagine violating a civil rights attorney's civil rights on camera... Just when you thought the level of stupidity couldn't get any higher. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9yszAEvCzs
It is so sad when big companies buy smaller companies, and completely ruin them... Case and point: Multiple food and beverage companies. Built on home-style, organic. They get popular, they get bought, and the ingredients are changed to GMO, High-Fructose Corn Syrup to save money. The quality [β¦]

This song def gives off "high school emo kid" vibes, and I am all for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZfZwv_zN7A
It is taking off... and 100% this video. I am of the opinion that we should take advantage of these tools while we can. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4Gzvq8qMOU
Wow, PhotoCraft is already a proot app in the catalog?!?! This means Cove workspaces can run it out of the box π https://github.com/muddyland/cove
I am waiting for the Cease and desist notices π This is crazy how good the software is after a very short period of time. For how long though? Adobe will eventually pay off these AI companies to stop this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mi_tYSdkWQ
Link to the repo for those interested: https://github.com/storytold I took a look and its not bad at all. I was more into the photoshop clone, but it is fast, smooth and does what I need... (so does gimp, but this is still pretty cool)
I'm sure the flurry of Emails about making my open source projects find-able and more popular are totally legit (kidding) If those folks read anything about my projects, my goal is not to have a popular piece of software... I build nieche tools for myself, and share with the world because it is [β¦]
So no, I will not be Emailing back, I do not want to increase visibility. I am just sharing code, that was only possible because of the work of those folks in the open source community. https://blog.mudhut.xyz/mecloud-i-replaced-nextcloud-with-stalwart-and-a-ui-i-built-myself/
I thought working for a closed source company would change my opinion, but it has only made me love open source more, and want to give back. I have learned so much from open source, and home labs in general, it is only fair to pass it on to the next wave of younger folks getting into the [β¦]

My recent blog post goes into detail about why I am doing this (building tools that are alternatives to other popular tools) My biggest idea I want you to take away from this: AI generated code is only possible because of the generous folks who have put their code out there for years, for free [β¦]

Maybe I am still an emo kid at heart, but this made me laugh. Both Stevo and Chad Smith "This is some kind of emo song" π https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZIlymf19Xg
This: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuccfEQgIeY Now, don't get me wrong, I think AI can be useful, I use it, and I am open about using it. Where it does NOT help, is if you let it make decisions for you. Which is the case for anyone who is new to development, and has not had to suffer the [β¦]
Now, I not claiming I know everything, I certainly don't, but there are 2 kinds of developers: 1. Those who just code, and code based on someone else's plan. They do not need to think about how this will affect the application in 10 years. AI makes these folks feel like #2, but they are not [β¦]
I am #2, I find enjoyment in understanding the stack first, the code second. How you code something, and what you code it in, is less relevant at this stage since AI can do this for you. It is more about "When I do this, I expect this" and having all of those scenarios up front before engaging [β¦]

Last time I checked, $3.07 is less than $4.50 for a gallon of gas. So where are all the people who complained about gas under the last administration? No where to be found, because he is not talking about it every day anymore. He is trying not to talk about it, because it is about to go up [β¦]
The only reason I use $3 here, is because it is what the price per gallon was in 2024, when ass hat took office. To his credit (idk why) it did go down to under $3, then he started a war and it skyrocketed. Does it really take people struggling to find gas or get things shipped for both these [β¦]
Cove - https://github.com/muddyland/cove has seriously changed the way I think about development (using Cove workspaces) and just general day-to-day stuff (browsing the internet) Kasm has as well, don't get me wrong, but Cove was my "I wish Kasm was better" project. (and credit is due to [β¦]
I love the panic everyone is under, then Marcus has to come out and remind us that vibe coding missile guidance systems is a thing... This is why as soon as I can get a good local model, with decently priced hardware, I will never look back. Until then, unfortunately, Anthropic gets my $100 a [β¦]
