Lula has been reelected president, Brazilian media has now called. An extraordinary comeback for the left-wing politician who trailed by 2 points in round 1 but managed to hold off Flávio Bolsonaro, the former president's son.

I just started watching Somebody Feed Phil, and I will probably have more to say about it once I get thru all 8 (!!) seasons, but if you want a taste, the episode on New Orleans (S1, E5) is so damn good I want to watch it again. It is an excellent companion to Treme, which I was thinking about...

Anyway, the New Orleans episode of Somebody Feed Phil (S1, E5) is told with such a sense of love and respect and kindness and humanity, all of which is wrapped in Phil Rosenthal's sense of pure joy and wonder at everything he encounters. And his parents are a hoot.

Music makes everything better. And there is so much of it every week, it is impossible to stay on top of it. We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many singers and songwriters and musicians.

"So I stop and fill the gaps I'm sorry, but I have to ask If you could do me just a little favor Tell me I'm no failure Promise not to laugh I got it wrong let's run it back Don't be a figment of my imagination But you are and I fucking hate it" (Gracie Abrams) We live in a time of 👍 pop songs.
