Just putting a marker down: When it happens and this madness is finally over, I'm throwing a week-long party at my home. Everyone's invited. I'll rent a block of rooms at the hotel down the street for anyone needing lodging. Details hopefully soon.

Today’s Canadian painting is “Mother and Child” painted by Norval Morrisseau in 2005. This is Truth and Rconciliation Day in Canada, a day to remember the harms done to Canada’s first peoples.

An amazing glimpse into Mesolithic everyday life: this more than 7,500-year-old ring was made from heather roots, carefully rolled up and prepared for later use. It was discovered at the settlement of Motala/Sweden, where the same material was used for fish traps. Dating 5750–5550 BC. 🧵1/2 📷me

Alber(2009, p81) tracing naturalization of unnatural scenarios from Culler(1975) to Fludernik(1996), & Bekhta(2018) adapting Alber(2008) to theorize unreadability as not "easily narrativized – for the texts whose form is conventionally expected to be narrative – or naturalized otherwise"(p 17).[2/7]

Morning. Trying new things. An international dark roast blend complemented with grated almond, bloom-steeped, French-pressed, and finished with an unsweetened beet, carrot, citrus-zest, and cinnamon infusion. #csabox

Brandi Carlile demonstrates w/ consistency vocal features I find vacantly compelling & which I 1st noted in rarer performance by Emily Armstrong: the voice is pressed to various forms of fragmentation. [Sonic Visualizer of Brandi Carlile-Uninvited (Morissette)-Newport Folk Festival, RI|July 2026]
