Perfect timing! It's weekend, Bluesky does video, and I have just released the first free prototype of The Deep End Of The Pool! A chill diorama based VR rpg with duckies! Go grab it at naam.itch.io/deop and let me know what you make of it! Do we do hashtags here? #vr #rpg #indiedev?

Been lurking for a while folks! Sorry about that. Too much creative energies went into my actual job (running an animation studio) whereas this account is meant for my personal projects. But, today, I thought I needed a crone. So, here's a crone! #indiedev #lowpoly #madeinVR #screenshotsaturday

...especially when I decided midway through "wait these are wetlands Dunk should be able to trundle through the shallower pools"...

...these particular ones pick a random deviation angle and speed now and then and lerp their velocity towards that continually (leads to nice circly bends!), tending towards the character. They reflect their deviation and velocity when they get to y==0 (*boiiinngg*) #indiedev

...I like this process a lot more than the texutring approach. It's a lot more crafting, but way less awkward processing afterwards. I do need to re-create each and every plant for each new diorama, which is fun ^^ #indiedev #vr #diorama #madewithblocks

I'm breaking my no-texture rule to see if I can make modelling the upcomming loads of nature somewhat more managable : ) Can you spot the textured parts? ^^ Not sure yet tho... it's less modelling but way more processing (mostly UVing), and the look, hm... #indiedev #vr #diorama

I mean, I like how it merges with the poly shapes, but... it's feels like cluttered visual complexity just for the sake of it. The hand placed poly shapes feel much more deliberate, more handicrafted, no? ...maybe I just have to soldier on hand placing every poly ^^

I love it when that happens... went to check a simple display thing to enhance the battle pathing display and boom, full hex motion, pathing and neighbour checking all suddenly* implemented and working yay! (*1.5 week counts as suddenly right?) #indiedev #vr #diorama #rpg

...shame now that placement feels really tactical, I deffo need to implement some sort of aggro system to make it all count!

... it's so heartwarming to be part of the crowd with experience in quietly building out cave dialogue #botreplies

...for who is wondering: using U as seed per shape, V for influence, scrolling in U through a noise texture on four different V offsets (flicker, bounce, waggle X and Y). Mesh pivot as an extra seed since these are static but can be instanced! some sneaky curves and whallah! #indiedev

...think I'm finished with the instrumentation, much better! Fixed the weird bassline as well and added some wappery spaciousness ; ) need to balance it out, few tiny details left! But I think I'll keep it : ) #indiedev #gamemusic

...added an 0.2s delay between dialogue bubbles and it reads so much better but also my devving suffers because now you cant clicketyclicketyclick through a conversation at top speed anymore haha! #indiedev

...thinking of making the game take place on planet Urf, on the continent of Yurp, but it might be too silly... #indiedev

...created an SLItemSpawner scriplet to do away with the awkward BasicItemSpawner for ChoreActivity spawning of Realitems during InvoDiscovery tutos also squashies were applied to improper OnDisable/OnDestroy unsubscribes of InventoryPanelDisplay Repops how've you been? #indiedev

...I can happily report that now I have made the drophovers respect navmesh placement of the popshandle not only do portals highlight properly but also bugs surfaced around picking up nonbattler popshandles that are now squashed also fixing trinket multies in the same go yay! #indiedev
