Nakia from Sydney

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social amazing death-defying run by the Blues, what a story. Growing up in Perth watching The Winners I was such a fan of The Buzz and Kenny Hunter, I've always been a proxy Bagger. Next year I hope you win 24-0 and belt Hawthorn by 100 points in the Granny.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social Let the war begin.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social well young Jess, Matthew Lloyd reckons we are your bunnies. What say you? I honestly can't pick this one. I just watched Scotty burbling shite at the Press conference and all I could think was "please shut up". You have a big out but so do we. Anyone's game I reckon.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social shaky start but Frankie Say, Fear Not. Coach won't be panicking.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social da-da-da-da-da ....

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social Frankie Evans, cult figure.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social You have a new coach! Absolutely deserved (what a game that was yesterday!) God, the news re Sydney is simultaneously disgusting and depressing.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social Go the Baggers!!!!

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social you beauty! Cmon the baggers!

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social kick it ... Ah jeez!

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social bloody hell Cripps you right there?

Hey @jessicaperthwa.bsky.social go the blues! Nothing would thrill me more to see you bury the Mayblooms.

@rohanconnolly65.bsky.social was just watching Howie and Dunstall's top 5 and Paul Kelly was on. He said some very nice things about your brother and his lasting influence. I'm sure you've seen it. It was a lovely tribute.

So farewell then Sir Keith Starmer. Your catchphrase was ... Nothing comes to mind.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social Geelong + umpiring Jeremy Cameron appreciation squad v Gold Coast!

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social what a game! Well done the baggers!

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social bloody hell!

26C dew point on my 13km run in tropical Asia this morning. If you've never experienced this, your sweat simply cannot evaporate. An absolutely sodden mess when I got back in, and beat all to hell. The things we do for the love and discipline of running!

AI will never be able to do this. Here's Patti Smith writing about her friendship with the impossibly gifted Sam Shepard. Wonderful writing. open.substack.com/pub/pattismi...

For God's sake, Albo, (I know you won't do it), insult Trump so he gets the hump and shuts down Pine Gap and cancels AUKUS to punish us.

This is all getting freaky. All my life I've wanted the Yanks to piss off out of Australia and would not have cried if they left Europe either. Also, I cannot believe we are STILL using fossil fuels. And here's Trump, removing troops from Europe and spurring the world to renewables. Damn.

The Spanish PM: "Netanyahu launched the worst possible unjustified attack against Lebanon. His contempt for life and international law is intolerable. He is a criminal that must be arrested immediately.” Imagine Albo or Wong saying this. Lol.

How much more shit can Americans take before the country buckles under and slides into the sea.

open.substack.com/pub/iandunt/... An excellent, beautifully-written set of observations by @iandunt.bsky.social

The media sanitising of the unchecked aggression of Israel and the US is par for the course. Every ridiculous, unwarranted invasion by aggressor "allies" of ours since I was born in 1969 has been reported the same way; it's a "conflict", not a thuggish attack for no good reason. Screw you, Guardian.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social I was teaching this afternoon and hadn't time to look at the footy score until now. Oh man. I'm genuinely sorry. Damn.

I know this seems unbelievable, but the heat index in Bangkok next week could hit 60C. 60C!

Normally I'd be absolutely thrilled by the ALP caning the Liberal Party in any jurisdiction. But I don't like Albo, or Minns, or that smug Shoppie SA Premier and his sleazy behaviour during the Writer's Festival. They're all bunch of bootlicking rentier Tories in my opinion. At least ONP failed.

Good morning. Woke up. Read again, like every day, that the President of the United States is more insane than any person I've met since being born in 1969. Going for a jog. It's 27C at 4.30am, and the hot season doesn't start for a few weeks. Hawthorn won. The world is bleak.

28km run this morning, up at 3am to beat the Bangkok heat. Made the dumb mistake of doing laps in a huge park midway though, super confusing and very humid. 32km next week and then the Wollongong Marathon. It is going to be total luxury running in dewpoints of 13-14C.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social looking good young jess.

Good grief. youtu.be/DeRETBWnNWA?...

#running half marathon this morning in central Thailand. Dew point 24C, absolutely brutal conditions. Made it through at a decent clip but was absolutely saturated when I finished, even my shoes were squeaky with sweat. Raced many times in Asia but these were the worst ever conditions.

Surely this can't be right. Surely. But, sadly, horribly, I fear it may be.

An Iranian ship at a joint Indian naval exercise, where all vessels were required to be unarmed, paraded its sailors along other participants, including the US. The US then withdrew at the last minute, torpedoed the Iranian vessel, and refused to rescue survivors. 87 sailors killed, 60 missing.

@jessicaperthwa.bsky.social ah strike me pink.

Looking good @jessicaperthwa.bsky.social

@beccabalintvt.bsky.social Can we replace the entire craven Australian government with you please. Many thanks.

@jonathanhorn.bsky.social That was a wonderful tribute to Dennis Cometti. Thanks Jonathan.

Dennis Cometti was erudite, funny and engaging. His witticisms could fill a library | Jonathan Horn www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2.... A wonderful tribute by this fine writer.

@jlcauvin.bsky.social hey J-L, sorry you didn't get the opportunity to be a rep. Next time! I've been listening to you for many years now and I really appreciate all your work in these dark times. Thanks for skewering those ghouls week after week, it helps keep me sane.

@ournewhomecoach.bsky.social I just saw the ppm stat in your bio. When I was born, CO2 ppm was 324ppm and it has since grown 33%. 33%! Good job we are being so responsible these days.

Stop pretending to be dumb: the Iran War is about Greater Israel, not “liberation” theshot.net.au/uncategorize...
