Happy 5th Anniversary, ElecHead!🎉 Since the game uses no text, I tried using only emojis and symbols for its Steam description. I tried doing the same with Öoo, but for some reason, it wasn't allowed.

On this project I'm working on right now, I can barely remember meeting any of my self-imposed deadlines. If I worked at a company, I'd probably be fired by now.

MONOMOON, my non-linear game about exploration and discovery launches on Steam November 11th! With no proper instructions, you must deduce and achieve your goals as you solve puzzles, find mysterious items, and uncover secrets hiding right under your nose.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Early on I was like, “I don’t even need to heal, this is easy,” but then the enemies got pretty tough later on and I was like, “Well... I haven’t healed at all up to this point...” and somehow I ended up doing a weird no-healing challenge for no reason...

I used to think working on a game for years must be incredibly hard, but once you’ve spent a few months on it, that “I’ve already come this far…” feeling starts piling up, and somehow quitting just stops feeling like an option.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Being able to rematch a boss right away might be more important than I thought. “I kinda just won” or “I wish I’d won in a cooler way” can leave you feeling a little unsatisfied. Being able to rematch right away lets you go for a win you’re actually happy with.

Lately, I’ve been thinking that the skills needed for development are all different, but they actually influence each other. Technical skills can create fun ideas, design skills can make up for technical limitations, and marketing can also lead to new ideas.

fromsoftware games often put an unbeatable enemy early on, then let you beat them later or on a second playthrough to show how much you’ve grown. I think that’s structurally pretty similar to a “knowledge unlock.”

I didn’t know who Shigeru Miyamoto was back then either, and when I found out he was behind Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda, and Pikmin, I remember thinking, “Wait, he made all of those?! That’s insane.”

Before I started making games, I thought every game released on Nintendo consoles was made by Nintendo.

Öoo is coming to GunnyAscend! 💣🐛 So happy to be part of this collaboration! Check it out!

Today marks the 17-year anniversary of Askiisoft’s ‘Tower of Heaven’. It was the first game project I ever worked on, and my introduction to the world of indie games. 🧵

It’s been one whole year since Öoo was released! 🎉 To celebrate the 1st anniversary, Öoo is on sale on Steam! ↓ store.steampowered.com/app/2721890 The video is from a scrapped idea 🐸

To celebrate the rerelease I'm going to post some videos from early development! This is the earliest recorded footage with just the controls / movement idea for mobile

Yesterday, I lost my phone at a big mall. I didn’t realize it until I got home. I rushed back to the mall and went to the help desk. Someone had already turned in my phone. I got it back. This is Japan.

The game is out NOW! Go play it, and please consider giving us a steam review if you like it. It's the best way for the game to get visibility.

Before full development of Öoo, I built a prototype to test whether bombs could push each other, stack on top of one another, and interact correctly. It looks simple, but implementing these kinds of "obvious" behaviors without using a physics engine was actually much harder than it seems.

SuperSudokoid It genuinely feels like a Metroid game. ・New upgrades don't immediately tell you where to go ・The bosses are genuinely terrifying ・Tiny oddities get paid off later in the game ・In the worst case, you can brute-force things with hypothesis testing sudokupad.app/68ek598lr7

It's really, really hard. I had to restart several times because I couldn't figure out where I had gone wrong. Still, I loved it. You might enjoy it more if you learn a few Sudoku techniques before diving in. Took me about 20 hours to finish.
