32 years ago today, my favorite video game was released. Still love playing it to this day. Fun fact, this is my original Sega Genesis that my family received for Christmas 1993.

My daughter asked me to play a spooky game so she can get in the spirit. We tried Resident Evil 1 (Gamecube) but she couldn't deal with tank controls. We played PT next and she liked it. Now we're just about done with Resident Evil VII which is the first RE game I've ever played all the way through.

Can concur. One of the best VR games I have ever played.

Titanfall 2 VR is a shockingly well-executed conversion of an already perfect game and one of the most moving experiences I've had in VR since Half-Life: Alyx. aftermath.site/titanfall-2-vr...

My day has finally come. Youngest asked me to play Pokémon Emerald on GBA. So I gave him my GBA SP. After playing for a while, he asked if there was any way to play it on the TV. Now he is playing it on a Gamecube with GBA player via RGB SCART to the RetroTink 4K using the Hori Digital controller.

Waited 2 hours in a line at Target with my kids to take them to the Pokémon event. None of the people in front of us had any kids. All we got for it was the joy of watching the people right in front of us buy the last cards and receive the goody bag for the day. I thought I disliked scalpers before

It's been interesting watching PlayStation self-immolate this year. I swear every move they have made this year would look no different if they were deliberately trying to alienate their fan base and allow a competitor to rise up.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but if you get Honey Bunches of Oats cereal and freeze dried blueberries, you can recreate Blueberry Morning cereal circa early 2000s.

The biggest shock to me with this news is that enough people use Xbox cloud streaming to necessitate them capping it. Clearly I am extremely out of touch with modern gaming.

@kytor.com hi Kytor, congratulations on launching the RetroTap. If I made an order today but forgot to add something, is there any way to add on another item to my order without doing a completely separate order and incurring additional shipping charges? Thanks!

My youngest has been playing Pokopia lately and he showed me the cartridge and asked why that cart has a little key icon on it but none of my other cartridges have it. I had to give him "the talk" about Game Key Cards. They grow up so fast and you want to preserve their innocence as long as possible

Watch Microsoft dominate Sony next generation by leaning into the benefits of digital (namely playing your purchases on a multitude of devices) instead of making a poop sandwich for customers and telling them to eat it and be grateful like Sony seems to be doing (I still don't like all-digital).

For #randomgamesaturday I have LittleBigPlanet 2 for the PS3. It's kind of wild to me that LBP 1&2 are completely locked to the PS3 with no other way to play them. I was really excited for LBP 2 because I loved the first one but it just didn't have the same charm for me.

Got an odd one for #randomgamesaturday. This is the Total Annihilation Gold Edition for Mac (which is the equivalent of The Commander Pack for PC). I loved this game as a teen and devoted countless hours to it and was always trying to get more people to play it. A really amazing RTS.

Wow. Modern gaming truly has left me behind. I literally have zero interest in any console from the big three that does not support physical media.

Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles. "Physical game disc production for all new games releasing on PlayStation consoles will be discontinued starting January 2028." https://ow.ly/3NSn50ZjcKP

If true, it makes me suddenly a lot more interested in picking this up. I know people like me must be a drop on the bucket when it comes to the video game market but nothing kills my interest in picking up a new title like Game Key Cards.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition (Physical) includes: Physical cartridge containing the full base game Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions

Was excited when I heard the rumors of these but $100 would have been steep if you got both for that. $100 each is just insanity (and hubris). I am a huge Sonic fan but this is a pass for me.

Today's #randomgamesaturday is Metroid Pinball for the Nintendo DS. Samus can roll into a ball so of course she gets a pinball game as all spherical-based video game characters must.

For #randomgamesaturday I have Sonic Unleashed. This game feels kind of like it was the start of what Sega perfected with Sonic Generations. I don't even own an Xbox 360 but I dumped the disc to play the PC Recompilation of this game and it looks and runs amazing.

@retrofrog.bsky.social Hi Todd, I saw your recent announcement about your Dreamcast adapter running JoypadOS. Do you think your adapter would make it possible to use a Sega Saturn Twin Stick controller on the Dreamcast? Was thinking I could use a Mayflash USB adapter and connect it to your adapter.
