We apologize to users of our brand new, fancy-pants, website. Some of the graphics are displaying with symbols for Saturday and Sunday we haven't seen before. We're looking into it.

Trending worse (as expected) in the drought map this week. Extreme drought for a good chunk of us. But, moderate drought still hanging on for those in N Robertson/Sumner and E Wilson. Grats to y'all! Still no rain in the 7 day forecast.

In all likelihood, it seems that yesterday's high temperature of 92° (which yes, did break the daily record high) was our last 90°+ day of the year. Our latest 90°+ day in a calendar year is October 19 and while long-range models do suggest us warming up next week, none think we get close to 90°.

Cold Front Tracker 2000 - Tomorrow's cold front is currently coming through the Oklahoma City metro with a stiff north wind and temps in the 50s behind it. We'll be in the low-mid 60s and falling by this time tomorrow.

Extreme drought now covers portions of our counties, most concentrated in Cheatham/Davidson. We're now over 11 inches below average on rainfall YTD at BNA. However, area reservoirs are in great shape, running very close to normal levels. Top notch water management happening there.

Blob of heavier rain continues to weaken as it pushes E into Sumner. Elsewhere, the outflow boundary continues to undercut any additional showers trying to form, which leads me to believe most, if not all activity tonight will remain N of I-40. / 9:12p

NWS Nashville has allowed the SWS to expire as the general weakening trend continues. Heavy rain w/ gusty winds continues to be mostly confined to Robertson and Sumner, although some may leak into northern Davidson. / 8:55p

Outflow boundary has pushed in front of the line, which should help with additional weakening. Heavy rain with gusts up to 30-40mph continues from Pleasant View thru Orlinda. No recent lightning strikes, good news for NSC game - for now. / 8:40p

Slight uptick has caused NWS Nashville to go ahead and issue a SWS for parts of Robertson, Sumner and Davidson. Heavy rain and gusts up to 40mph possible. Generally moving WSW. / 8:05p

Things holding together slightly better than models had anticipated, but still on the general downtrend. Robertson and Sumer still the favorites to get rain, but possible for anyone. / 7:52p

Based on current trends, relatively higher rain chances appear to be set for Robertson and Sumner counties but doesn't mean rain is impossible elsewhere. Storms continue to gradually weaken - as expected. / 6:45p

Regarding the Nashville SC game and other evening plans - we're watching this cluster of storms sitting off to our NW. Models continue to be adamant about these falling apart, perhaps maybe holding together enough for some showers N of I-40. I don't foresee any sort of delays related to lightning.

Not to sound like a broken record - but we keep breaking records. BNA reached 93° today, which not only beats the old daily record of 89°, but is also the latest in a calendar year we've ever reached 92°+.

The morning run of the HRRR model shows evening showers, perhaps a storm, falling apart upon arrival to the area, giving those N of I-40 the better chance of seeing some rain. No guarantees, but this seems to be the general consensus amongst models.

The evening run of the HRRR model shows the cluster of showers/storms (ETA Wednesday evening) holding together better than previous runs thought. We'll see if this is a trend or just a one-off, but something to keep in mind for evening plans tomorrow.

Next weekend 👀. Before that, mist/drizzle should let up sometime between mid-morning and lunch, could be a buzzer beater if it's gone for the Titans game. Probably a dry week ahead, with temperatures well above average Monday - Thursday.
