An excellent and spot-on analogy that rings true based on my own past as a web designer and my present as a web developer. The skills still matter, but in entirely different ways - and the companies and teams that value human judgment and taste will outperform those that don't.

What Just Happened to TheNumbers.com Should Worry Us All, by @stephenfollows.com: https://stephenfollows.com/p/what-just-happened-to-thenumberscom-should-worry-us-all?ref=frontenddogma.com #ai #bots #scraping #traffic #metrics
It’s the “greatest hits” of Spielberg in a single movie.
The new Death Cab record is solid! Great guitar tones and some interesting drum sounds. Feels like a return to form. On heavy rotation.
@finnertysteeves.bsky.social I read about all your recent efforts with IEC and wanted to reach out to let you know about our initiative - @flickchart.com. We share the same goals of crafting a broad film community for all with a love of movies. Would love to chat sometime.
I ventured into the Backrooms today. www.flickchart.com/review/nz96e...
A very solidly-made concert film - as you'd expect from someone like James Cameron.
A bit too Hallmark for my taste. www.flickchart.com/review/4chln...
Really enjoyed this - more than I expected to. www.flickchart.com/review/vhtfe...
Flickchart has been a long journey. We started building it in 2006, launched in 2009. Since 2017, my partner & I have rewritten the entire site: hundreds of thousands of lines of code. We're now finally live. Please take a look: www.flickchart.com Find me there at: flickchart.com/user/nathanchase
The all-new Flickchart. Every movie has a unique look. Rank, recommend, review, journal it, watchlist it, and see what your friends' think of it at a glance. See where it's streaming online. So much more.
For the developers out there, the original 2009 version was on a stack of ASP.Net on the backend, C#, and SQL Server. The frontend was a MPA w/ .NET UpdatePanels and jQuery, HTML, and CSS. The new site is .NET/C#, neo4j + MongoDb on the backend. Nuxt 4 @nuxt.com + SSR/SPA, Redis on the frontend.

I'm not the only one that hears Oasis's Champagne Supernova blatantly "interpolated" right outta the gate here, right? www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFlV...
Irrational thought of the day: I wish that Claude was named something different so that "clear" and "claude" weren't battling for which to autocomplete on my terminal window when I type 'cl'. I could of course alias one of them, but, ya know - I don't wanna! @anthropic.com
This excites more than it probably should - but "critical CSS" has been such a minefield of mostly not working right for so long - I'm so glad to see this approach. calendar.perfplanet.com/2025/how-to-...
One of the best gifts I’ve received this year. @peterclines.com - can’t wait to dig into this!

A reminder that I am, indeed, 15 years older than the web. The entire *concept* of the web. I was already 12 years old before the internet's most basic visual form was even conceived. My entire professional career *didn't exist* before I entered high school. No college classes. Nothing.
Happy 34th Birthday HTML tags! On October 29, 1991, the internet pioneer, Tim Berners-Lee, published a document entitled HTML Tags. #WebDesignHistory
An incredible 15 minutes to outline where we've been and where we're headed.

It's not every day a college student completely upends a 40-year-old computer science problem.
Radio stations for the past 25 years: "Playing the hits of the 80's, the 90's, and today!"
Something's coming for us I think we're not prepared That this might only be day one Thinking of ourselves, we are divided But if you fly your flag, they'll weaponize it Doesn't it feel like the end? When we can't even agree on what was said www.youtube.com/watch?v=sglb...
@davestewart.uk I found your blog post on Nuxt Layers really useful and comprehensive and was curious about your thoughts on how the new Nuxt `/layers` directory with autoimporting factors in. This paradigm shift towards grouping your larger app into smaller groups by domain is powerful.
In the ongoing debate over CSS Masonry, I commented that there is a strong argument to use the `collapse` keyword. 1. an elegant and semantic reuse of an existing keyword 2. no need to create a new keyword 3. no misunderstanding of a new keyword's meaning Thoughts?
Another day of mostly hitting a brick wall trying to set up OpenAPI schema auto-generated API routing via github.com/johannschopp... while simultaneously successfully make an authorized call via github.com/atinux/nuxt-... only to get nowhere while yearning for a simpler solution... on a Saturday.
@camchenry.com I've been trying to make ESLint and oxc play nicely together in a Vue/Nuxt project. I haven't had any luck yet. Any tips?
You are up to date.
