@flannelforever.bsky.social and I went for a hike today in Whitten Woods in New Portland, Maine. It's part of Somerset Woods and Water trails. The property used to belong to our family. It had been awhile since I have done The Big Rock hike to the Carrabassett River.

Chicken soup with matzo balls for dinner. I make the soup, and @flannelforever.bsky.social makes the matzo balls.

It has been a cool and rainy day here in Maine. So, I decided to make an apple pie. I used local Maine Cortland apples...the best apples for pie, in my opinion. #baking

Yes, it was cool enough for a flannel shirt today. I wore this LL Bean one today.

BLTs made with our own driveway tomatoes andgreenhouse local lettuce for lunch with macaroni salad.

My tomatoes are finally ripening in my driveway garden.

Finally! My first hot pepper...habanero.

My first peppers are finally ready. I have a lot of pepper plants this year, and they are taking their time this year. The Jalapeno is going into guacamole made by @flannelforever.bsky.social later.

I had my first shower beer. My partner @flannelforever.bsky.social, is a big fan of them. I have to say it was refreshing and delicious!

I found four small tomato hornworms on my tomato plants this afternoon. So @flannelforever.bsky.social and I went out with a blacklight flashlight tonight and found three more. I'm going to trim some leaves and move my plants(in pots), to make it easier to inspect them again tomorrow night.

We sat down to watch TV. My partner, @flannelforever.bsky.social , took off his house shoes and we discovered we were wearing the same socks all day.
