About to buy the single Apple product I'm ever going to use willingly... It's the magic trackpad It's cool that I can get one of the few redeeming things about a macbook ripped out without the rest :) Also it's type-c thank all the gods

Last time I checked @zed.dev immediately after the first linux release it was very very broken still - glad I tried it again cuz I easily replaced vscode with it over the last week and didn't feel the lack of anything yet - maybe git diff panel, and a couple keybind interactions I'm not used to, eh

The programmer-minimalist dull-colored UI design does things to me, and of course it's blazing fast af™ The ai stuff is fine, the built-in chat/voice stuff is intriguing yet unobtrusive at last (same with ai - no constant toplevel quick action eyesore, *ahem*vscode*ahem*), cant wait for selfhost

Omg why is everybody drooling over TXT DNS records for bsky handles, webfinger is so much better - it's way easier to do and works immediately (no waiting for dns propagation), also you can make it dynamic for <user>.mysite.tld Maybe cuz it's the first option?.

Moved to zfs and made an rm alias that first snapahots the dataset where the path is No more grepping /dev/nvme after being dumb Idk, for some reason I don't remember, aliasing rm to trash stuff didn't quite work zfs snapshots are the nuclear solution lul Also httm is goated

Literally every website ever should do the domain webfinger thing Only big things that do that are bsky and email - and aint nobody doomscrolling email - you for sure know that guy.corporate.tld does, in fact work there and represent them, or that .gov domains are verified government etc etc

One single fundamental flaw in bluesky is that it's seemingly impossible to force someone to unfollow you Every single account that has more follows than followers is a follow-bot, so annoying smh Also no person can consume more than like a few k follows, can we autoban anyone who has > 5k?.

zfs block cloning is insane It *is* possible to split off 6tb folders into child datasets without needing to have 6tb of free space and like a bagillion hours of the fs being barely usable :)

bsky app feels so snappy tho both mastodon and x-formerly-known-as-twitter are sluggy (twitter moreso) and lack polish (twitter lost a lot of it somehow idk) that react native doin' work or something

and threads are full of, uh, instagram-grade normies, which is kind of the point ofc, but the vibes are awful as a result and the domain verification is great, if I see guy-from.corporate.com I know he does in fact work there, just like email, finally

You are up to date.
