Rogan later referred to Flint Dibble and academic guys as "Weird, bitchy, weak men," as though that didn't describe how he gets whenever someone criticizes his favorite pseudoscientists. (Later still he apologized for the remarks, kind of.)

I miss when Tim Sweeney was they guy who did ZZT and Jill of the Jungle rather than the guy who's inflicting his AI-themed brainworms on the gaming industry. Anyway since ZZT came out in 1991 I'm gonna get started on crumbling into dust.

Some really scummy stuff going on with ballot measures here in California this year. Also now that I've filled out my mail-in ballot, I really wish there was a way to be exempted from political ads, but the deluge will only intensify for the next week and a half.

I'm enjoying Final Fantasy Resonance a lot so far. Unlike where the main series has been for the past (oh god) 20 years or so, it's exactly what I want out of an FF game. It has an Octopath-style 2D-HD look, and messes around a lot with classic FF tropes.

Some of the nostalgia bait doesn't land with me since I've played so few of the newer games. I actually gave FFXV a chance because it was on sale for PS4, but its confusing action-based gameplay completely lost me, so I have no particular feelings about Noctis except he can cast Blizzara.

And if you want to be more cynical about superhero movies without worrying about me having to mail you something, I have The Problem With Superheroes available in PDF on both Etsy and itch. #zines #superheroes www.etsy.com/listing/4602... nekoewen.itch.io/the-problem-...

I finally finished a new zine, this one about the issues with superheroes, particularly in their blockbuster form. It's not _all_ about late-stage capitalism, but a lot. #zine #superheroes www.etsy.com/listing/4598...

Texas GOP is desperate enough to fear-monger about their made-up version of furries. This attempt at a moral panic has basically nothing to do with what furries are actually like. It’s not even exaggeration, just outright fiction.

The new Street Fighter movie is dumb as hell but really fun. David Dastmalchian plays M. Bison with a great mix of villainous menace, utter weirdness, and a bit of channeling Raul Julia. I also really liked Vidyut Jammwal's take on Dhalsim as a confident and charismatic mystic.

Is Pete Hegseth's Bold Pledge To 'Kill Everyone' By 2028 An Unrealistic Pipe Dream?

The jokes are kind of there to satirize how MCU moves are overly jokey, but I nonetheless enjoyed the running gag of Tien being an EDC (everyday carry) guy.

Bryan Cranston voiced Fei Long in the English dub, and I seriously can't un-hear it. Ryu goes for a stroll in Hong Kong with Walter White telling him about Shadowlaw. They also put in some 90s alternative, like Alice in Chains and Korn.

Another thing about this is how Tommy played dumb and pretended he was asking the question in a vacuum. Some people work really hard at not understanding the concept of context when it suits them.

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

Trying to figure out what the Xeroverse equivalent of Black Panther led me to discover Lion-Man, likely the very first Black superhero. The comic only got one issue, likely because of racism stopping the publisher from getting paper. nerdist.com/article/hist...

nerdist.comThe Brief History of Lion Man, the First Black SuperheroBlack Panther is widely considered the first Black superhero; however, that honor belongs to Lion Man, who appeared in All-Negro Comics #1 in 1947.

It must suck for all the people who worked on that to have it ruined by Musk’s powerful Aura of Lameness.

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

It is hard to overstate just how much I overbought on USB cables, which is the kind of thing that can happen when you're a habitual customer of both Daiso and Ikea.

Another piece for Maid RPG: Hand Maid Edition, specifically for the Random Events section, hence it has Yugami facing off with a space bounty hunger (Attributes 2/Stress Limit 10) who randomly showed up at the mansion. Check out Raditz if you want your own detailed manga-style art! vgen.co/Raditz

I really couldn’t tell you why I felt the need to make a little vaporwave shrine in my IKEA Kallax shelf a while back, but I’m really happy with this silly thing.

There were a lot of different "old schools," including ridiculous power gaming. They weren't all schools of D&D either. 15 months after D&D came Tunnels & Trolls, and dozens more followed just in the 1970s. The 80s saw designers start really figuring out how to move away from D&D's formula.

The OSR has produced some interesting stuff, but it doesn't come anywhere close to representing the totality of old school TTRPG play, especially since it's almost entirely focused on D&D. If you're into that kinda thing I did a Ghostbusters retroclone: legacy.drivethrurpg.com/product/2327...
