I try not to think about it because there was nothing I could do but I lost so much money this year :,) My savings have been decimated.

I liked my Wyon drawing so much I decided to do my other fave Calypso The resolution for this season of Dimension 20 got me SO emotional.

Somehow I have managed to lock in (thank you pomodoro timer) and got 15/18 of the essays done in like an hour. Kinda wish I had brought more home but I don't like to take stuff home because I rarely get this on task on the weekends lol.

I know they say you have to love something in order to properly parody it but I don't think Harry Potter Adults are really equipped to do a biting critique of that narrative (guess who had to sit through the play today.

our school is putting on a non-affiliated (no royalties paid) HP themed play this week, and I have SO many misgivings and mixed feelings about it. Especially because I know at least one closeted trans kid that's IN it.

it's one of those "yeah no money goes to JKR at all because it's a parody, but it's dealing in the cultural currency of the thing and in this climate I don't feel comfortable supporting anything doing that, but also our drama program WILL go under if no one sees this show."

And since I did David I gotta do his boyfriend Jamie! Jamie Shay, werewolf and fitness nut. His werewolf form is huge compared to to his human form lol.

David Navarro! This character has been on the back burner for several years but I want to include him more in Beth and Lindsey’s story. He’s a nurse, and they often come to him for help getting patched up.

Yesterday a student who likes to talk about video games with me asked me if I had ever heard of Bioshock. Of course I was like hell yeah, but then he said "Oh I'm so glad! None of my friends ever want to talk about such an OLD game" and my soul left my body lol.

Current struggle: supposed to show a movie today. Teacher left the DVD but all our computers run windows 11. None of them have the capability to play DVDs so I have to install VLC, but I can't because I have to have district approval to install new programs. So I have to rent the movie on Amazon.

i tried to get approval but the bureaucracy is moving so slow it won't happen before class starts. Also this happens to me A LOT, and it's frustrating, because even if I do get VLC installed on one computer, that doesn't mean it's installed on the next one.

I often have to pay out of pocket for as a long term sub, like movies we show in class or audiobooks. Regular teachers often have to do it too, but they get paid more then I do :,)

help i have to dress as a villain at work for halloween but every fucking costume is a sexy one and i can't think of one that wouldn't involve having to buy a bunch of shit

the thing that makes this annoying is if I HAVE to pay for a costume (which means 60-100$) im going to have to pick one the kids would recognize rather than one i would enjoy, cause it's for work and the dressing up is kinda pointless if the kids don't know who you are.

the good news is the lowkey transphobic handmade campaign signs are gone the bad news is they've been replaced with professionally made highkey transphobic campaign signs.

I want to cancel my Audible account but I have a bunch of stored up credits (I normally use the credits to buy the audiobooks for whatever novel I have to teach, but I've got most of the ones taught in our district now). Anyone have any recommendations?

Got my covid/flu shot yesterday and the teenage girl in front of me seemed like she was afraid of shots, so she brought two of her friends to distract her. One of them held her hand and the other read her turtle facts.

The name of this hypothetical restaurant is Little Bites Buffet

There should be a restaurant that offers a service for picky-but-curious eaters where you can try bites of a bunch of different foods you're curious about but then you still get the plate of chicken tenders and fries or whatever at the end to fall back on.

I know logistically that would be pretty hard to do, but for me the hardest part about trying new things as a picky eater is that if I order something I don't like, I'm stuck with it and can't eat it, so I'm out money AND I'm still hungry!

I want to try stuff, but I also don't want to be punished for trying something new and then it's completely inedible for me. Sometimes I don't know that until I take a bite of it because ~texture~

my brother and his partner are coming over today for the FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS and now I have to clean the apartment and grocery shop and shower before dnd at 3 so I can be ready to go afterwards so I GUESS NO RELAXING FOR ME TODAY
