Whole chain of events was put in motion a long time ago, when a pair of hydrogen atoms fused together in the core of the Sun releasing photon that traveled to the surface of the Sun for about 10,000 years, took its 8 minutes to reach Earth and through the atmosphere just to piss on my retina.

Sad day for the wallet, but a nice proof that redundancy works. Took me month to notice that something had failed. 6 disks, 4.4 years in 24/7 operation. First failure. It can still take one disk failure before data loss, but jesus christ the replacement disk prices πŸ₯²

Looks like Ive bought 2 of the disks on April 2022 for 622€ totals, meaning HDD price has casually bit over doubled since then.

You know the feeling that arises when you plug a USB-C cable into a USB-A port behind your computer in the dark, which shorts out the port and destroyed your PC motherboard? That. Where stupid people protections πŸ₯Ί

My power company went bankrupt when Russia invaded Ukraine and the cheap electricity disappeared from Finnish network. I sent a demand letter to the company to pay the difference to the new more expensive plan. Received this small letter from Court of Helsinki, 4 years later πŸ˜‚

Let it be known that my mother, annoyed while visiting me bought me a dinging table and chairs. Ya'll can now stop bitching about the lack of a dining table while visiting.

"Our automated systems may analyze your Content [...] using techniques such as machine learning in order to improve our Services and Software and the user experience" - Adobe. The irony of whats going on is not lost on me 😁

I am trying to make a serious business page why you actually need a Finnish native SEO person when entering a Finnish market instead of AI translation but this thing is just turning into a shitpost.

Baby's first ProtoFlux! I can now have space station by the meter on #Resonite. #NerdaWorksADP

I have now had 2 of my friends stufying psychology tell me that they suspect I have some sort of autism. So I started looking into model train sets. Would be cool to find all the locomotives I have personally driven in πŸ‘€

As my company is privacy oriented I got a great idea for a business card. RFID blocking card that stops people from reading your cards from your pocket, but it's also RFID readible VCARD itself. Anybody good with exotic antenna design? XD

I think am getting old: Got excited to find a #python library that pulls blood pressure measurements over bluetooth, straight off the #Omron BP-cuff. No need to use their app to log stuff πŸ‘€

I've been working 16 hours a day for two months. Today sent the first invoices of my new business from my new management software I made. Had a free evening, so naturally I turned my Excel of Life into SQLite of life with tooling, now I have mother of all gym apps with all the health related data.

Can't say much yet, but I was in a super interesting job interview yesterday. I so hope I get the position... Feeling good about it.

Reminder: You can make your #password much harder to crack by including a poop emoji πŸ’© in it. It is usually a valid character. There is no brown in rainbow table.

Today I learned a new word: #Polymath. Explains my unfinished projects, and why I feel behind specialists even when I'm also skilled in their field. I need to understand why something works before I trust it. I change my mind when evidence proves me wrong.

It's a way to get our voices heard (again), that we don't want this kind of surveillance that used just for repression! If you are an EU citizen join in!

Bought the last Pixel 10 Pro XL in the store, the newest phone @grapheneos.org supports. Pixel 11 will probably get support eventually but it's a marginal upgrade/downgrade I already know I won't care about.

#FursuitFriday in #Awoostria with my brotogen! May the fluff be with ZenProtogen 🐺✨ Two protogens, one poster, zero budget.

πŸ›¬ Pro tip for those arriving to #Awoostria by airplane: Don't take the CAT (City Airport Train), to Vienna, its a tourist trap. Use RJ-train the locals use, leaves from next track. It's like half the price for the same service. Red Γ–BB ticket kiosks are next to the platform. Repost if helpful.

Heres how the new #projector looks in #3D mode at 1000 fps. Looks like red and blue lasers are solid state controlled and the green has a swiping effect from the shutter wheel as the light is generated from the blue light by the phosphors.

Self-observation: in 4-dimensional hyperspace I am a worm, extended along the time axis. The 3D body I present at each instant is a cross-section of a tapering 4D worldtube. I do not like how I look along the time axis. Multidimensional dysphoria, I argue, is valid.

Theory: fear of death and multidimensional dysphoria are the same thing, one just has an extra dimension. Rotate the dread into the time axis and it looks like dysphoria. That is the whole trick.

In direct 30Β°C sunshine with the crunchiest of hangovers, I somehow managed to replace the faschia wiring harness in my powerbank. Plot twist: it was not broken and mystery of the dead parking sensors continues. #Tesla #Soy #DIY

My #Optoma #UHZ68LV has a painful controls for #3D modes, so I wrote a #HomeAssistant integration: power, picture mode, 3D sync and format, all from one dashboard. Profile driven, so any Optoma model just needs a JSON file, no code. #OpenSource #FOSS github.com/nerdaxic/optoma_link

YOLO'ed my first Austrian income tax return with Claude Sonnet. Shame the forms are only in German. I am so going to jail.

I got accepted as customer in metro.at, I can now buy things like 360 piece carton of eggs for 104€ and 10 liter canister of vodka for 70€. They have offers for us home chefs: Buy 1000€ of mayonnaise and get a free air fryer.

Spent the evening manually punching EQ settings into my home cinema. 11 channels Γ— 7 bands each, Q and gain per band, plus the subwoofer: ~240 values entered one arrow key at a time with an IR remote 😭 Also discovered I'd been running the house curve on the right channel only this whole time.

Repurposed an old digital signage touchscreen into a custom #HomeAssistant dashboard for my #HomeCinema. Pulls live data from #Plex: media info, poster, the works. Also spent way too long making a logo for it. #Nerdaplex is now a real place.
