ICE just gassed a group a civilians near the Rico Fresh supermarket intersection on Armitage in Chicago - bystanders say this was in response for being heckled from the street.

This is one where her lyrics stay simple, don't try to insert any words longer than your arm, and just keep the song hustling. Dare I say it's catchy.

Still, her voice swims right on the surface, every time. Even that Bohemian Rhapsody style overdubbing there before the (I think) final verse didn't really have the depth I would like to hear.

"My mama told me" and "lightning strikes" -- ok it's simple lyricism but this part works. The song overall has a throwback feel. Maybe it's the Eagles-like guitar

The song itself: ok...I mean it's ok. I don't think this one will get radio play, or not much if it does. Can't dance to it, don't want to clean house to it. Maybe it works for others, but it's a nope from me, dawg.

Moving on to Elizabeth Taylor. Dramatic opening. Quickly turns to (yet another) overwrought pining to lost or potentially lost love. Here is the chorus. Ok. "Hollywood hates me" is going to stick around. The snare coming in -- very good move, helps push this along (the lyrics are wandering).

Who suggested this "white diamonds" breakdown?? Not sure I like this move. But here we are, back at the refrain.

So far, this is the only one of the three I've listened to all the way through for the first time that I think has stickiness. I can see this being a part of a movie soundtrack or workout playlist. It has energy and catchy repetitiveness with just enough dynamism.

I like the change during the second chorus, emphasizing different words. Good move.

Eww. Trying Life of a Showgirl for the first time and No. It's like she wants to have seminal, magnificently poetic lyrics and she is just not delivering that level of wordcraft/meaning...it sounds very, very shallow, but whoever sings the second verse has a great voice.

Listening to Fate of Ophelia for the first time. Immediate impression: the music and the voice/lyrics aren't working for me. It's like it started great but then she does the first line and it....kind of goes limp, like her voice can't match the tempo and energy of the music. 2nd verse is cheesy.

Second impression, still listening to it for the first time: I like the bridge but then it gets lost again. Then the slow arpeggio at (what I hope is) the end? Idk. This just feels extremely teeny-bopper.
