Nick Diego

Eight months ago, I left @automattic.com. Today, I'm back, and excited to keep working on WordPress in this agentic era. nickdiego.com/returning-to...

After three wonderful years at @automattic, I’ve decided it’s the right time to move on and begin building a project of my own. More context here: nickdiego.com/the-right-time

After many great years in WordPress developer relations, I’ve moved over to product marketing at @wordpress.com. Still working on tools like Studio and Telex, just from a different angle. Wrote a bit about the shift — and the new Blueprints feature in Studio 1.6.0. nickdiego.com/wordpress-st...

I'm loving this two-week release cadence for Studio by the @wordpress.com team. You can now connect and sync your Pressable sites. 💪 Here's the announcement post: pressable.com/changelog/st...

The livestream will begin in two hours! @ryanwelcher.com and I are going to discuss and demo best practices for WordPress plugin development using AI. Join us 👉 www.youtube.com/live/ZHTMLvy...

Next week, @ryanwelcher.com and I are hosting a live stream on building WordPress blocks (and Editor extensions) with AI. We’ll share insights from years of our own dev work and show how AI fits into established workflows. Join us on 3/19 at 5 PM UTC: www.youtube.com/live/ZHTMLvy...

This should be a fun one. AI has fundamentally changed how I approach plugin development. Join us tomorrow: streamyard.com/watch/xU5BV7...

Ticket secured for @pressconf.events. Who else is going?

Join us Monday, 10am PST for a live chat about AI and WordPress - are autonomous agents and no-code tools really about to displace custom WordPress development? w/ @matthewmedeiros.bsky.social youtube.com/live/NTDpJsd...

This is for anyone who's built a WordPress block theme and struggled with an incredibly long theme.json file. Just get AI to write you a solution. I should have done this months ago 😅 nickdiego.com/stop-strugg...

Experimenting with AI-assisted WordPress development is pretty much all I've been doing over the past few weeks. Currently, Cursor is my platform of choice, and I have put together a little primer on my setup. Curious what everyone else is using... youtu.be/3_TiyKdPNq4?...

Hope to see some of you at Developer Hours tomorrow. This will be the last session of 2024!

The future vs. the past 😉

As I look back on this year in WordPress, Playground stands out. The team has released an incredible number of enhancements for developers and users alike. Join me and @ryanwelcher.com next week for the final Developer Hours of 2024, where we’ll recap the highlights: www.meetup.com/learn-wordp...

So, what part(s) of my Block Visibility plugin should be added to WordPress? Share your thoughts here: github.com/WordPress/gu...

Doesn't look like WordCamp Asia has a BlueSky account yet, so I'm going to share this one here: I'll be doing a Speed Build Challenge with @nickdiego.com at WordCamp Asia 😎 And you might want to keep an eye out for some more announcements coming soon 👀

Developer Hours will start in less than 3 hours! If you build sites with custom fields and post meta, you won't want to miss this one.

Really just started exploring this 🦋 app over the last few days. A delightfully ad-free and improved experience.

Looking forward to Developer Hours next week with Justin Tadlock and @ryanwelcher.bsky.social. Currently flying back from a team meetup, where we spent the majority of our time experimenting with the Block Bindings API. So many applications... RSVP on Meetup 👉 meetup.com/learn-wordpr...

While on eyes are on the #WordPress 6.7 release today, some of us already started about what should come next. I'm really excited about this proposal to improve the templates architecture and behavior in block themes. github.com/WordPress/gu... Please send the feedback our way. Thank you.

Congrats to the 780+ contributors who worked on WordPress 6.7! 🎉 wordpress.org/news/2024/11...
